Gotta figure out how to turn the flash off on my sister's camera, Soundwave looks much lighter in the pictures than he's supposed to... his paint job looks more like worn pewter/aged metal in person. I also don't get why the figure looks so "gunky" in the photos, must be the lighting... A fairly straightforward paint job on this fella. Used Krylon Fusion for Plastic's Flat Black and let that cure for a week before I started painting. Drybrushed on Citadel's Mithral Silver, let that dry, then used Chaos Black, which I thinned down with water, as a sort of wash/glaze. I then went over the figure again with some more Mithral Silver drybrushing to hightlight his features. I found these sticky golden "gem" thingies at a Michael's store that I used as embellishments on certain parts of Soundwave's satellite mode after I paint them up. Mixtures and blending of Enchanted Blue and Skull White were used on the blue bits that accent the figure. Since Soundwave never revealed his bot mode in ROTF, I'm only going to display him in his satellite mode using a base that I made out of LEGO Technic pieces that I had lying around. Was originally planning to make add-on tentacles to the base and some LED work to accent parts of the figure (via the base), but I guess I'll save that for the (far) future. I'll post the Ravage custom I made first at a later time, but for now, I hope you enjoy!
