Been trying to come up with a mold idea for a bot that turns into a satellite, and I've also been trying to think of something to do with my extra Classics Starscream, so I came up with this. I wanted the end result to be taller/larger than Starscream, without being too much larger.

What do you guys think? Good idea? Bad idea? Any suggestions?

Actually, nope. Though RotF Soundwave was the influence for the alt-mode, and is a possibility if I ever do a second one like this. If it was Soundwave, I would mod the chest more, get rid of the shoulder cannons, get rid of the shoulder intakes, and give him his traditional weaponry.

are there any model kits of satellites so that you can reshell this. Now personally I dig the idea of course and well it works.

I think your spare Classics Starscream will do the job nicely, especially considering his transformation. I'm anxious to see what the satellite itself will look like. :thumb

Thanks. I've looked around, but I haven't found any that would work for this (well, without ending up with a shell-former that is).

Thanks. I'm going to try and come up with an image of what I have in mind for the satellite-mode. Part of the inspiration for it, is actually the Astroscope minicon.

Well, it's not very detailed, but this is my basic idea for the satellite-mode. The proportions are a little off too, but it gets the idea across.

The legs form the tube looking part, the body is the main area, the panels there form sort of a wing/backpack for the bot-mode (I've got some bionicle ball joints that should work for that), and there's a satellite dish attached to where the nosecone used to be. Not sure where to place the shoulder cannons in alt-mode, but I'm sure I'll come up with something. Maybe find a way to attach them to the tube-part/legs, or maybe even the panels.

Also, I think I've found a plastic tube that might work for this. I'll have to take a picture of it next to Starscream.

Actually, no, but that is definitely an interesting idea. In actuality, this is my idea for an Earth-mode Raven-XL7. Though I may incorperate Database as sort of a smaller satellite that can dock onto Raven in alt-mode.

This would work better for Soundwave.

    Can you draw that?

Maybe, later. Though for now I'm going to concentrate on the one I plan on doing, tbh.

That was the first TF I thought of when I saw this thread. We need more satelliteformers!
