A lot of people were able to figure out there was more to Sari before. So I thought lets put all our speculations on Sari in a single thread to see if lightning can strike twice. Does Sari come from the future? Maybe she came from the Beast Machine era and got warped to Sumdac's lab? Did she burst out of Megatron's head just as Athena came out of Zeus' noggin? Was she another transformer in a past life before getting reformatted back into a protoform? The theory of her being Arcee seems to have been shot down, but there are other transformers. Rosanna, Flipsides, Air Razor even Unicron. Plus there is also the question......was she born an autobot, or as a Decepticon. She has had energy blasters before the upgrade. The Allspark seems to have hastened her development and she gets Tongfa blades and a war hammer. Weaponry are common mostly to Decepticons. So is she a Decepticon by birth? Any one else want to give their theories. Share your theories here people. Even questions. Take risks. Uhm... make mistakes. We wont laugh at you, but with you.... hopefully. And will any further information be revealed within this season? Gahh!
I think this is pretty close to the right track. I think to really understand the full "Sumdac story", we need to examine/compare the Cadmus myth in more detail.
Good old wikipedia. Cadmus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Athena: Athena - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Birth Image from the temple of Athena at Mycenae, c. 625 BC (National Archaeological Museum of Athens)) In The Greek Myths (8.a, ff.), Robert Graves notes early myths about the birth of Athena which describe her as a goddess from Libya, whose worship came to the Greeks from Crete after arriving there as early as 4,000 BC. According to Graves, Hesiod (c. 700 BC) relates that Athena was a parthenogenous daughter of Metis, wisdom or knowledge, a Titan who ruled the fourth day and the planet Mercury. Other variants relate that although Metis was of an earlier generation of the Titans, Zeus became her consort when his cult gained dominance. In order to avoid a prophecy made when that change occurred, that any offspring of his union with Metis would be greater than he, Zeus swallowed Metis to prevent her from having offspring, but she already was pregnant with Athena. Metis gave birth to Athena and nurtured her inside Zeus until Athena burst forth from his forehead fully armed with weapons given by her mother. Late Classical Greek myths most commonly describe Athena as the "daughter" of Zeus, born from his head after he swallowed her pregnant mother. She famously wields the thunderbolt and the Aegis, which she and Zeus share exclusively. The Olympian version After he swallowed her pregnant mother, Metis, Athena is "born" from Zeus' forehead as he grasps the clothing of Eileithyia on the right —black-figured amphora, 550–525 BC, Louvre. Although at Mycenaean Knossos Athena appears before Zeus does —in Linear B, as a-ta-na po-ti-ni-ja, "Mistress Athena"—[6] in the Classical Olympian pantheon, Athena instead appears as the favorite daughter of Zeus, born fully armed from his forehead after he swallowed her mother, Metis.[7] The story of her birth comes in several versions. In the one most commonly cited, Zeus lay with Metis, the goddess of crafty thought and wisdom, but he immediately feared the consequences. Prophecy claimed that Metis would bear children more powerful than the sire,[8] even Zeus himself. In order to forestall these dire consequences, after lying with Metis, Zeus "put her away inside his own belly;" he "swallowed her down all of a sudden."[9] He was too late: Metis already conceived. Minoan labrys, 2nd millennium BC. Eventually Zeus experienced great pain; Prometheus, Hephaestus, Hermes, or Palaemon (depending on the sources examined) cleaved Zeus's head with the double-headed Minoan axe, the labrys. Athena leaped from Zeus's head, fully grown and armed — with a shout, "and pealed to the broad sky her clarion cry of war. And Ouranos trembled to hear, and Mother Gaia..." (Pindar, Seventh Olympian Ode). Plato attributes the cult of Athena to the Minoan culture of Crete, introduced from Libya during the dawn of Greek culture.
Wanderings [edit] Samothrace Cadmus and the dragon, black-figured amphora from Euboea, ca. 560–50 BC, Louvre (E 707). After his sister Europa had been carried off by Zeus from the shores of Phoenicia, Cadmus was sent out by his mother to find her, enjoined not to return without her. Unsuccessful in his search, he came to Samothrace, the island sacred to the "Great Gods"[8] and the Kabeiroi, whose mysteries would be celebrated also at Thebes. At Samothrace, Cadmus was not journeying alone: he appeared with his "far-shining" mother Telephassa[9] in the company of his brother, who gave his name to the island of Thasos nearby. An identically-composed trio had other names at Samothrace, according to Diodorus Siculus:[10] Elektra and her two sons, Dardanos and Eetion or Iasion. There was a fourth figure, Elektra's daughter, Harmonia.[11] whom Cadmus took away as a bride, as Zeus had absconded with Europa.[12] The wedding was the first celebrated on earth to which the gods brought gifts, according to Diodorus[13] and dined with Cadmus and his bride.[14] [edit] Founder of Thebes He came in the course of his wanderings to Delphi, where he consulted the oracle. He was ordered to give up his quest and follow a special cow, with a half moon on her flank, which would meet him, and to build a town on the spot where she should lie down exhausted. The cow was given to Cadmus by Pelagon, King of Phocis, and it guided him to Boeotia, where he founded the city of Thebes. Robert Graves (The Greek Myths) suggested that the cow was actually turned loose within a moderately confined space, and that where she lay down, a temple to the moon-goddess (Selene) was erected: "A cow's strategic and commercial sensibilities are not well developed," Graves remarked. Intending to sacrifice the cow to Athena, Cadmus sent some of his companions to the nearby Castalian Spring, for water. They were slain by the spring's guardian water-dragon (compare the Lernaean Hydra), which was in turn destroyed by Cadmus, the duty of a culture hero of the new order. Cadmus Sowing the Dragon's teeth, by Maxfield Parrish, 1908. By the instructions of Athena, he sowed the dragon's teeth in the ground, from which there sprang a race of fierce armed men, called Spartes ("sown"). By throwing a stone among them, Cadmus caused them to fall upon one another until only five survived, who assisted him to build the Cadmeia or citadel of Thebes, and became the founders of the noblest families of that city. The dragon had been sacred to Ares, so the god made Cadmus to do penance for eight years by serving him. According to Theban tellings, it was at the expiration of this period that the gods gave him Harmonia as wife. At Thebes, Cadmus and Harmonia began a dynasty with a son Polydorus, and four daughters, Agave, Autonoë, Ino and Semele. At the wedding, whether celebrated at Samothrace or at Thebes, all the gods were present; Harmonia received as bridal gifts a peplos worked by Athena and a necklace made by Hephaestus. This necklace, commonly referred to as the Necklace of Harmonia, brought misfortune to all who possessed it. Notwithstanding the divinely ordained nature of his marriage and his kingdom, Cadmus lived to regret both: his family was overtaken by grievous misfortunes, and his city by civil unrest. Cadmus finally abdicated in favor of his grandson Pentheus, and retired with Harmonia to Illyria, whose inhabitants proclaimed him their king and founded the city of Lychnidos and Bouthoe.[15] Nevertheless, Cadmus was deeply troubled by the ill-fortune which clung to him as a result of his having killed the sacred dragon, and one day he remarked that if the gods were so enamoured of the life of a serpent, he might as well wish that life for himself. Immediately he began to grow scales and change in form. Harmonia, seeing the transformation, thereupon begged the gods to share her husband's fate, and she did (Hyginus). Lee Lawrie, Cadmus (1939). Library of Congress John Adams Building, Washington, D.C. In another telling of the story, the bodies of Cadmus and his wife were changed after their deaths; the serpents watched their tomb while their souls were translated to the fields. In Euripides' The Bacchae, Cadmus is depicted as being turned into a dragon, or alternatively a serpent, after Dionysus overthrows Thebes.
DON'T YOU GUYS GET IT!? Bumblebee confirmed that Megatron eats protoforms! Obviously she fell out of his mouth! She's his breakfast. Kidding.
^SLAP^ NOOOoooooo.... Sari's Meg's kid, that's why she started out with red eyes. But he didn't eat her, or spit her up _V_; It's like those cukoo birds that put their eggs in another birds nest so they raise the chick. Izzy raised her up and now that she's usefull...something...else will, um, happen. Yeah, that's about right Or maybe Prowl knows something, let's go ask Prowl...
Well, for Sari's protoform to have ended up in Sumdac's lab, it would have needed to have come from someplace where there are, or rather were, protoforms. Like that secret room Yoketron showed Prowl in Five Servos of Doom. What the heck did Lockdown actually do with all those protoforms, anyways?
ok im confused i dont watch much animated but i watch some. is sari a pretender or something along those lines? sorry if this sounds completly idiotic but i gotta know.
I've postulated this before, but I'll say it again since it appears that a lot of people missed it, and all modesty aside, I have yet to see someone come up with a theory that makes better sense: Sari's protoform was created specifically by the Allspark after it crash-landed on Earth. (It would have been in the Autobot ship at the time of Sari's "birth", remember.) The Allspark landed on a new planet, and doing what it does, adapted to the planet and cranked out a lifeform, perhaps a "test" lifeform. Unlike on Cybertron, where protoforms were much larger, the Allspark created a lifeform the size of the native inhabitants-- hence Sari's baby-sized protoform. It sent it to the greatest power source nearby-- Sumdac Tower. We know what happens next, and when Sari finds her way onboard the Autobot ship, this is why the Allspark reacts uniquely to her presence, and they "converse" as it gathers information about this planet it's on, and the Allspark gives her the Key, perhaps knowing it will be dispersed soon, perhaps not. Sari eventually upgrades herself with the key-- it was meant for her, after all-- and the key has serves its purpose, so it no longer works. (Derrick Wyatt has confirmed as much that upgrading Sari was the key's purpose.) So now Sari is a temporary container for the Allspark. Perhaps she'll eventually transfer that energy to a new Allspark, or perhaps (at the very end of the series, if there had been a Season 4) sacrifice herself in her present form and become the new Allspark. EDIT: Wyatt said in a recent interview that you could figure that out from Season 2, which I take to mean the protoforms were on the Nemesis and were turned into Starscream's many clones. Sari is a Cybertronian protoform-- oddly baby-sized-- that Sumdac touched and that partially merged with his DNA. She is half-Cybertronian, half-human.
According to Derrick Wyatt, "If you've seen all of Season 2 you should be able to figure that out". The implication being that they became the Starscream Clones. Most likely, Megatron hired Lockdown to steal them and they ended up on the Nemesis, presumably as replacement bodies for Decepticons injured in battle or accidents, and in the 50 or so years that Starscream traveled alone in the ship's remains he turned them all into duplicates of him.
Sari will become the new Prime of the Autobot Earthforce, tasked with recovering the Allspark shards and protecting Earth when Optimus becomes Magnus. As for what she is: she's Megatron's "contingency plan". If he was to get destroyed, he carried a protoform inside him to dump his spark into and then be teleported away to somewhere to gain power and come online (which is why it ended up at Sumdac Towers) - Megatron will be seen to die, but rise again somewhere else. Unfortunately for his plans, Isaac touched it, and somehow overwrote the Megatron bits with human bits.
Using the Athena myth: 1. Megatron does eat protoforms to enhance himself or use their liquid metal bodies to regenerate himself. But one of these protoforms fought back and erupted out of his head(when Megatron was weakened) to reform wihin Sumdac's lab. And then Sumdac touches it. 2. Megatron's proximity to the Allspark caused some of its energies to enter him. But this power used Megatron to make a new protoform which emerged in Sumdac's lab. Another theory: 1. Sari is a sleeper agent ( probably Decepticon) sent by an unknown Decepticon leader to do reconissance on earth. She was supposed to come in in protoform mode, scan the nearest most advanced technology(that's why she was sent to Sumdac's lab) then do her tasks. But she ended up touched by Sumdac, messing up her programming, datatracks and prolonging the maturity of her capabilities.
From what's been revealed.................She's kind of like the Maximals in Beast Machines transformers. She's a technorganic. A cybertronian that transcanned a human(Isaac Sumdac) and so got a human altmode. She is then raised on earth by the human she transcanned.
I was going to have in my fanfic Sari's template being one of two main templates for an Animated version of the Pretender concept the other being a modified version of Meltdown's mutants
WOW, at this tread are we watching the same thing? I though Sari was one of those egg things that Prowl used to bring back his trainer. I was under the impression that Lockdown stole most of them and lost one on Earth. Sumdac found it touched it and boom SARI.
The better question is, what show have you been watching? 1. Sari's Protoform was much smaller than the ones stolen by Lockdown. 2. Even if she was one of the ones he stole, why would he lose her on Earth? He had no reason to be on Earth at the time her pod was found. There was NO Cybertronian activity on Earth until the Autobots woke up from stasis. 3. Her pod wasn't just "found". It APPEARED out of THIN AIR in Sumdac's lab, right next to Megatron's head. 4. The protoforms Stolen by Lockdown were all but confirmed to have ended up on the Nemesis, and were used to make the Starscream Clones. The Nemesis didn't arrive in our system until Starscream crashed it on the Moon. He didn't crash it on the Moon until, again, the Autobots woke up. Long after Sari was "found/appeared". They would have to do some major plot twisting to tie Sari's protoform to those Lockdown stole and not have it turn out needlessly complicated and unrealistic.
