Well, as far as I know (and I could be wrong), Pretenders aren't actually organic, while Sari is part organic. However, there are definitely similarities, and I wouldn't be surprised if there is some connection.
define for me, if you will, a Seeker. And also remind me how many Original Cybertronians there are. thanks
A Seeker is a member of a elite airforce. In most of the versions of the TFs story their were 13 but it varies in different story arcs.
I thought the same thing at first, but no, she's just a techno-organic humanoid. Well, if you remember Alice in ROTF, she went back and forth from a robot to her outer organic shell, and if you look at Sari, she pretty much does the same thing. But while Sari may definately not be an actual Pretender, it can be safe to say that Derrick J. Wyatt and friends made Robot Sari as sort of a tongue in cheek Pretender homage. ^ QFFT (Quoted for freakin' truth)
Derrick J Wyatt has already stated that Sari was something brand new. Definitely not a Pretender. It's too bad we aren't getting a 4th season, as I've heard that Arcee was going to teach Sari about being a robot.
I'd imagine that "something brand new" would mean she is a new evolutionary step in the development of the Transformers race. See, the way I always saw it, is that the Technorganic Transformers are actually meant to be the ultimate evolution of Cybertronian life - kind of how Beast Machines depicted it, the balance of the two would create a superior lifeform, exceeding the limits of pure flesh or pure machine. But the Transformers were somehow induced to believe that organics = bad, therefore that true potential was sealed. Until Sari was created. A pity that we never got to see how that would have developed, because I figured there was some big bad, most likely The Fallen in Unicron's absence (Wyatt said no to using Unicron), would have foreseen the threat evolved Transformers posed to him and taken measures to prevent them ever reaching that potential.
Just quoting info from Vangelus when we went to see RotF together. There was talk about how the writers wanted Arcee to be Sari's teacher on Cybertron. Maybe Tutor Bot could've been Team Rodimus' teacher for adapting to life on Earth? I could even see them using Soundwave's virtual reality device as another homage to G1's Only Human episode (would love to see DJW's human Arcee). Unless Marty Isenberg gets that comic book deal going with IDW publishing, I guess I could always ask Derrick J. Wyatt what was intended. Until we know if the publishing deal goes through or not, I wouldn't harass him about it.
Next big bad would probably have been Team Charr. With the only *functioning* Space Bridge on Earth, no doubt that's the only option they'd have for rescuing Megatron.
eww If Sari was a pretender ewww... "THE TAIL FROM THE EUGHH, THE TOUNGE EUGHHHH". Yes not scary but definitely disturbing =).
