I just moved here friday and I have no clue where any of the good comic shops are. Are there any favorite places where you guys like to go?

    Thanks ^^

Let's see, in San Jose for comics??? There's Legends in the Oakridge Mall, but that one is rather limited... The Legends in Vallco Mall is better, I'd say...

For toys, you can check out Far Out Toys in J-Town...

J-Town? You mean japantown? I live right in the heart of it. Thanks for the tip on comics, I'll google directions for the Vallco mall.

Yeah, Far Out is in Japantown...

    161 Jackson Street, Suite #1
    San Jose, CA. 95123
    USA

Their TF selection has been dwindling... They got other cool stuff in there though...

That's where I typically go. And it's MUCH better than the one at Oakridge.

Just up the road from Legends in Valco is Comics Conspiracy. They're pretty good.

Heroes (in Campbell) isn't bad either...or at least I don't remember it being bad. I haven't been there in years.

Nope. But then again, I avoid all things Bezerkely with the exception of Zachary's. :D

*edit* Actually, now that I think about it, I go to the Zachary's in Oakland. So yeah, I pretty much just avoid all things Bezerkely. Haha.

I thought the Vallco Legends closed down? And there's this really good shop that my brother goes to, but he'd kill me if I told any of you.

So....your going to deny this store buisness which leads to lack of sales and possibly closing down for your brother/everyone? Where is the logic in that? o_O

Not unless it happened between today and last Wednesday...

Are you thinking of their move (a couple of years ago I think)? They're across from Todai (almost next to Sears really) upstairs.

There's one at Lincoln/Malone, and another downtown. I've known the owner (Dan) for years, REALLY nice guy. Hijinx Comics is definitely the most friendly, most accessible, clean, well-organized comic shop I've seen in my life. They're short on back issues (for those, you should hit up Space Cat), but they're the best for TPBs and most recent comics - if it's not there, they'll order it for you.

I can't say enough good things about Hijinx. Just go check one out. You'll definitely be pleased.

Really? The one on Lincoln used to be Mike's Coliseum...I really miss that place.

Speaking of missing places, how about Comics Pendragon? I loved that place as a kid.

Yeah, Hijinx is the same place as Mike's Coliseum. I think Dan bought it/inherited it, and revamped the place into Hijinx.

It's the only place I'll buy comics. :)

I may check it out based on your recommendation. I haven't been there since it changed owners years ago...

I will say that it's certainly more convenient for me (than going out to Vallco) as I pass Hijinx every day on my way to work.

Comic Relief in Berkley is awesome :)  I don't go there nearly often enough...mostly because so many of the other good places near there are gone :(  I mostly hit "The Comic Shop" in San Leandro...just a little hole in the wall, but it's convenient...
