You should go to the San Diego Zoo, Seaworld, the San Diego Wild Animal Park while you are there. If you want to you can also go to Legoland.

I've got a friend who lives over there who works in software programming. What kind of job are you looking for?

Honestly just a small part time job so I can have some money over there to go traveling in my last few weeks.

Make sure and have fish tacos! Go down to Tijuana, Mexico for fun. It's fairly close by.

yeah I plan too, my friends were there last year and said it was pretty wild! I turned 21 last November which is great too (the legal drinking age in Ireland is 18 BTW).

Also if you're interested visit the USS Midway, it's a wonderful ship to walk around on, plus on the hanger deck there are several full up flight simulators (full enclosure, go up and down and rotate), but they cost money and are not included in the admission price. When I was in San Diego on business travel last year I walked all over it.

Do not go to Tijuana! They are having huge problems with drug violence and kidnappings there right now.

    MIG: Mexico Travel Alert

The Mexican food in San Diego is better and safer than anything in TJ anyway.

The Gaslamp quarter has a lot of nice bars and clubs. You should also go to a Padres game at Petco Park. It's a really nice stadium.

And since you'll be in town you should definitely get a ticket to Comic-Con. Everyone should see that at least once.

You have to get a ticket beforehand. Four day passes and Saturday passes are already sold out online. Thursday, Friday and Sunday will be sold out soon. They will not sell tickets at the door.

Thanks. Do you guys think it will be hard to get some small part time work in San Diego in this economic climate?

For part time work you may want to check out Sea World or the San Diego Zoo. I know Sea World hires students to work part time during the summer. You'll have to get a work permit to work in the U.S. if you don't have one already.
