Not a big anime fan...but holy shit, this is amazing.

Picked it based on a YouTube clip I saw, and five minutes in, I'm really glad I did.

Rewinds during the action sequences are a little jolting. Hope there are fewer as time goes by.

By the direction, voice work, and especially the music are just fantastic.

Does the series hold up as time goes on?

The few eps I've seen are all awesome.

If you like that show, you should check out Cowboy Bebop. Made by the same people with the same style of music and flow, it's probably my favorite anime ever.

I saw the movie and definitely dug it. Been meaning to watch the series, but it just keeps getting moved down the queue. Eventually, though.

It's been awhile since I've gone through this one; it's high on my 'rewatch' list. I thought the ending three-parter was a little weak, and the baseball episode (#23, IIRC) was just flat out bad IMO, but otherwise it's an excellent series and very entertaining. The energy, action, humor and character depth hold up throughout the show and I liked it a lot. Can't remember if the rewinds kept up at the same level throughout, though.

And I definitely second the recommendation on Cowboy Bebop, although I actually liked Champloo better.

I enjoyed the show from the first episode through the last one. The Rewinding (during action at least) does subside throughout the season.

If you like Linkin Park, check out this Champloo fan video I made.

Did you ever post that here?

That may have been the video I saw that caught my eye, but not sure.

Samurai Champloo has some cool eliminates but it never grabbed me like Cowboy Bebop did.

I can watch that Baseball episode over, and over, and over again.

All in all Samurai Champloo is a great series and you can't go wrong with Shinichiro Watanabe's direction.

Great anime! Does lose a bit of steam towards the end, but still worth a watch or two.

sweet, the animation looks like the boondocks. here I thought this was some cartoon-network thing that looked like johnny bravo. I think because the first time I saw it I thought it said "samurai shampoo." now I gotta watch.

I'm down with Champloo, just watched it last month. Great fight choreography, narration, but a bit too hip hop flava at times. Fun show, I preferred Bebop based on the future/space opera genre preference.

And the same animation studio was used for Boondocks, based on the show's creator loving Bebop and Champloo so much. :D
