I always love it when a figure has ZERO back pack. It makes the character seem more believable to me, I guess. What ever the reason I wanted to share the love. So sound off on figures you like for not having them. PRID Wheeljack just came in for me last week and man is he sexy. He looks extremely coherent. FE Bee also has basically no backpack. WFC Megatron and Soundwave as well. I don't know. Anyone else feel very pleased when a figure lacks a back pack?
I like it when a figure's silhouette from all angles is perfect. I like it when the transformation looks impossible. I like it when Transformers are awesome.
Don't forget about how the RId Vehicon basiclly got rid of the huge back pack that the FE version had! THAT was a big improvement!
I don't mind a backpack as long as it's either: a. Accurate to the show model or b. Doesn't greatly alter the character silhouette from the front (and maybe three-quarters view, if lucky).
RtS Wreck Gar/Generations Junkheap. Sexy sexy sexy! Classics Seekers, and First Edition Cliffjumper counts for me. At most, FE CJ has a buttpack. Oh yeah, Universe 2.0 Inferno and all versions of that mold. Awesome!
Well, everyone tends to overlook that the seekers have always had GIANT WING KIBBLE. But it's part of the character really, we forgive it because it's iconic.
It's forgivable because it's how the characters are supposed to look. They just wouldn't be the same without the wings afterall. I'll give them a pass as it doesn't really count in my book.
Universe Onslaught is great, since his back kibble forms his iconic look. Also, Generations Drift has no backpack. Also, Armada Demolishor and Hot Shot are lacking in the backpacking.
Oh yeah, I'm not really complaining, but the character was designed after the toy (and thankfully further stylized), which is why the wings became an essential part of the character. It's still toy kibble if you really think about it, but nobody really minds it.
