    Anyone here use it?

It's cheap but shipping time says "7-45 days".

I was wondering what the general experience has been with it, is it closer to 7 days or 45 days?

I've only used it once with HLJ and I seem to recall it taking at least a month to Los Angeles.

My last HLJ shipment came SAL and it took about 4 weeks to arrive. If you're buying a lot or something heavy SAL is so much cheaper than EMS. I guess it depends on where you live and how bad you want said item.

I'm told that SAL mail (Surface Air Lift) can sometimes be a little quicker due to the way it's handled. Basically if there is room left on the plane after it's packed w/ the "priority" items, they'll put SAL items on the plane. If not, it'll sit there until the next delivery. Not 100% sure if that is accurate, but seems right as I've had several items shipped SAL from Rinkya and other on-line vendors from overseas that arrived within 2 weeks.

SAL's not worth it, for an extra $10 or so you can probably get it shipped EMS and its like 2-4 days. SAL will be at least 2 weeks, but usually its closer to 4.

I already did (I'm a cheap bastard), 2-3 weeks doesn't sound too bad, hell half the time when I order something from Canada or California it ends up taking just as long.

SAL is the equivalent of stand-by tickets for flights.

My last SAL shipping from HLJ.com took 16 days.

My last EMS shipping from HLJ.com took 5 days.

    Well worth the extra $10.

It's definitely a wide window - got a Battle Convoy reissue in 5 days flat, but Autorooper took 3 weeks.

i've always used SAL from HLJ and have never had a problem - I used it on my MP-05 megs and while this one has seemed to take a little longer to get here, it still hasn't been 2 weeks since i received the shipment confirmation from HLJ, so i'm not too worried about it

I use SAL shipping all the time. It usually takes 2-3 weeks for items to arrive but it depends on the time of year in Japan. It can get delayed if any major holidays are happing in Japan at the time.
