G1 Movie Prowl and Animated Prowl. The first death looked painful; he like burst into fire from the inside (coming out of his eyes and mouth) after getting shot up by the 'Cons. Animated Prowl finally knew the meaning of Yokitron's final words when he joined the Allspark (literally) so his death hit me in the softie department.

Armada Starscream; meh. I think it was horridly melodramatic. ("Do it for me, Megatron!" Really?) G1 Movie Starscream's death was sad in how hilariously quick, sudden and well deserved it was. (Don't get me wrong, I love Screamer since he's my fave character but he definitely had it coming to him). Animated Starscream; his death was without much fanfare; the best laid plans, eh?

Not sure why but Animated Blurr's death was kind of a surprise to me in what was supposed to be a kid friendly show. Was a bit funny (in a morbid way) when his cubed-crushed corpse was thrown away like so much trash by Longarm Prime (aka Shockwave).

Lamest death goes to Ultra Magnus in the movie. Died without even fighting back while trying to open the Matrix, and then he gets brought back to life anyway despite his gross incompetence. Pfft.

The #1 saddest TF death is that of G1 Optimus Prime, no contest.

Still, the deaths of Animated Prowl and BW Dinobot were still pretty sad yet badass.

I never chose Starscream  ; his deaths were justly deserved (except Armada, but that was a bit too 'fruity' for my liking).

Animated Prowl was done decently too.

Well okay. The actually SADDEST death for me wasn't of any specific character, but Cybertron itself in Headmasters.

It was kinda like the destruction of the original Enterprise in Star Trek III; it had been there for so long it was like an old friend, and it wasn't just a place they fought over, it was their home.

The death of Optimus didn't faze me in the '86 movie, but the scene of Rodimus and co. standing on the dead husk of their home planet with the sad music playing did.

Cybertron Vector Prime, followed by Dinobot and Armada Starscream.

Sorry but G1 Optimus Prime never makes me cry at all. Damn you the many deaths and returns of Optimus Prime.

you know, just today i was watching part of the '86 movie. listening to cullen's voice while watching prime's eyes as he gives his last words from the beginning of that scene... extremely saddening. Cullen did such a good job conveying Prime's great sadness. Really, I encourage everyone to watch that scene carefully, watch the eyes as they light up... If I weren't a grown ass man, it would've made me cry on the train today.

Dinobot was also extremely well done. Like everyone else, I also feel for the people on the shuttle. They didn't get to say goodbye to anyone!

the 86 optimus prime death just has no effect on me, scerw prime, let him die again and again

i can watch that death over and over, theres just nothing saddening to it to me, it holds no emotional pull on me, the saddest g1 death to me is the "Death" of God Ginrai in Victory, NOW THAT has emotional pull to me

beast wars dinobot truely has the saddest death scene in transformers history, there is no other equal

for me, it's the shuttle crew in the 86 movie. brawn, prowl, ratchet, and ironhide. original G1 characters getting destroyed right off the bat. and after hot rod blast the shuttle, the decipticons abandon ship, leaving those dead autobots to crash and burn....

    such heroic nonsense.

G1 Optimus Prime > Animated Prowl > Armada Starscream. Galvatron's death was laughable. :lol

Guess this would be as good of a time as any to say that I almost cried at the end of Beast Machines...

All incarnations of Optimus Prime. I don't mean to sound like a wuss but I always get misty eyed when watching TFTM or ROTF. :cry

    Oh, and Ironhide.

Yeah... Ironhide's death is probably the only one that's stuck with me to this day, and I didn't really even know who he was when I first watched the movie. It was just that great of a scene for establishing Megatron's true villainy.
