What it says in the title. For me it was Armada Starscream, especially when we saw his body get disintegrated.

I'm inclined to agree, what a lame way to go - tho Ultra Magnus just pretty much standing there to be shot at by Sixshot gives it a run for it's money.

I don't consider either of these to be sad. They both died fighting for what they believed and they both (more so Dinobot) knew it was the end for them and accepted it. So a stunning, powerful impact on me yes, definitly. But sad? Not for me.

I'd say Ironhide would be "saddest" in my eyes. He tried, he put up a good fight, he didn't surrender, but ultimatly it was all for nothing. Megatron and his army where none the worse, the attack on Autobot City still happened, it was still a surprise to the defenders and Prime had to sacriffice himself because of it.

Add to that the brutalness of his death and Megartons dismisiveness of his actions plus the fact that Ironhide was in command of that shuttle so it was his failure. That's a sad end in my opinion, espesially for such a loyal, tough old soldier.

Although the burning spinning friendship circle is pretty bad too. It's like dieing from a "Care Bear Stare" attack.

Personally I hate to see Prowl getting shot. I'm not sure what happened, but I really don't like to see that smoke coming out of his mouth. That sucks greatly.

    What? Really?

Yeah, I feel pretty much the same way. I think that Optimus's death in Transformers the movie is probably number one, and Dinobot's death in Beast Wars is probably number two. I still debate whether or not Optimus coming back to life takes away some of the emotion from his death.

I agree with G1 Ironhide being the saddest, the care bear stare death of Galvatron wins for lamest.

From the 80's Primes death but I was more upset that Ratchet and Prowl died then prime.
Starscream from armada is very sad as well. But the biggest saddest one is Dinobot from best wars I cry everytime I watch that.

Well, if you're going for the literal sense of 'sad', then yeah, it'd probably go to Ironhide or the Rampage/Depthcharge ending.

...I was going more along the lines of poignant. :p

Every death in the '86 movie was a punch in the gut, because it wasn't expected. At the time that was something new.

    Oh.. and Dinobot.

Oh! Rampage/Depthcharge is another good one, I hadn't even thought of that.

As far as pongnant deaths go then it's Prime and Dinobot but that's mostly because they were meant to be that way and to the writers credit, were both pulled off very well, so it begins to be an unfair comparison.

I don't really get why you chose Starscream now though...
