Starring WILLIAM SHATNER as "Dad". Again, greenlighted for fall from what it looks like, and it's not April Fools Day.

Read this on Yahoo! this morning, if it's been posted already I am apologizing now, as I don't really have time to look. Censored the title because I don't know if I can type s*&t out in a post.

    Article:

With Shatner, 'Bleep My Dad Says' Beams From Web to TV - Yahoo! TV Blog

How will they edge this past the censors? Do you think the dialogue will suffer from possible bleeps or will it be ok and come off funny in the style of current edgier comedies like Two and a Half Men and it's other surrounding shows?

I have to say I don't know if I see Shatner playing this role, especially if he doesn't tone down the Shatner...

My .02 cents? KURTWOOD SMITH would have been a better choice!

And for those of us who are in the dark: http://twitter.com/shitmydadsays

I saw the preview. I don't know if Shatner is the best choice for the Dad character, but I think he'll do a fantastic job. The video preview they've got for the show is relatively funny. I'm hoping they let Shatner get a bit less safe and a bit more foul with the what the dad says. (It'll be difficult to loosen up the language if they're trying to market this as a family-friendly sitcom, though.)

HBO should have picked it up instead. They wouldn't need to censor it, plus I could definitely see it in a style like Curb your Enthusiasm. That would have been much better.

I'll keep an open mind about it.

Shatner=win. But let's see what else they have. I haven't yet seen the twitter feed that is sitcom material.

    VIDEO PREVIEW:

YouTube - $#*! My Dad Says - Fall 2010 Preview

^Why not have your cake and eat it too?

Make Kurtwood Smith the girlfriend's Dad. That way they can have Shatner and Smith both say "shit". Just give Smith some ShitMyDadSays quotes to say when the son goes with his girlfriend to meet/visit her "Dad."

^I wouldn't mind that one bit. My main concern about the show is how butchered the quotes may become from their original source. Sometimes the occasional vulgarity within the quotes makes it all the more enjoyable.

Also, does it strike anyone odd that the only celeb mainly following "shitmydadsays" is none other than...LEVAR BUTRON?!?!!? LeVar Burton (levarburton) on Twitter

    Conspiracy, I think so.

Ugh, not a laugh track :banghead:

Thats the only problem I have with sitcoms, besides The Big Bang Theory (Is it true it's actually the audience laughing?)

'Kay, watched that preview. Shat has some good lines (really laughed at the dead guy one), but the rest of it seems underwhelming. I'll at least catch the debut.

Peter Cullen is Prime again, Frank Welker is in too. Megan Fox is out of Transformers and we got a cartoon-accurate Unicron.

Now we have a show based on something from Twitter.

Is it just me or is Hell freezing over AND the World coming to an end?

If I didn't already have Carl Sagan in my signature I would have used this quote :lolol

Oh and you forgot the death of Dio :cry

I'm still keeping an open mind about it. It has some potential. William Shatner ain't too half bad actually.
