Oh, really? Guess it didn't show that well in the renders.

I'll buy this just for the sake of having a Nova Prime that can combine and doesn't look like a pancake with limbs. He'll also probably get final boss position in a certain photocomic... wait and see.

EDIT: Head and detail on wings should probably be modded for IDW-accuracy. A few more paint apps would be welcomed.

and head silhouette. The head should have double-pointed ears, not single-pointed ones. The current head design is more akin to the TF: Devastation Nova Prime.

The Maketoys head is not accurate to how he looks in the comics.

Pretty sure that's where nova prime came from, so how is that not right?

They're talking about the game, not Nova in the Devastation storyline. Also, he was Nemesis Prime back then

To be honest, the Maketoys wings aren't actually accurate to the comic, either; in the comics, his wings are entirely black (except for when he reversed his colours and started calling himself Nemesis, then they were entirely white), so we're adding gold highlights to break up that massive gulf of blackness. :p

As for the head... I've had a look, and the comic and game versions of his head are basically identical, with a pair of uprights on the forehead crest, and a single pair of horns for ears. So yeah, that's the design we've already gone for. :D

The forehead crest on the normal head doesn't really stand out from the forehead in the renders, almost if they weren't there! A slight molding change to make them a bit sharper and stick out a bit more would be greatly appreciated.

I've got an idea for your next project/challenge...

Your design skills and work are definitely awesome, and if you're looking for another challenge, here's an idea:

Build an Ultra Magnus/Powered Convoy upgrade kit that could serve as a trailer and also combine with CW Battle Core/Optimus Prime.

I understand that we already have a CW Ultra Magnus, but just imagine how epic it would be if CW Battle Core and CW Optimus Prime served as the cab for Ultra Magnus and Powered Convoy- the resulting robot would be much much larger than the current CW Ultra Magnus, and I think you could really pull it off- you've got the skills sir. ^_^

What the...stick to your own ideas and leave mine alone.

There was nothing to fix- I'd prefer an Ultra Magnus/Powered Convoy upgrade over PM Optimus Prime or Ginrai.

It looks like these kits are coming with two different heads. One to put on the Combiner figure and one to put on the basic figure. How does the head for the basic figure go on? The current head doesn't have a screw and looks tough to remove.

I find your abundance of faith heartening - Anti-Vader :p

Thanks very much. And yep, that's an intriguing idea, but it'd be a monster to design. :p

Ah, well, now, y'see... the smaller head that the voyager figure uses in bot mode gos into its alt mode position inside the chest, and then never, ever comes out again. :p

Basically, the standard head in the kit replaces the stock figure's combiner head, and then the combiner head in the kit goes over that standard head in combined mode, just like combiners of olde. :D

Now, do you know if all six of these sets will be released at once? Or will it be staggered? If its staggered, what will the order be?

Don't see why we can't have both. They both sound like such awesome ideas especially for Powered Convoy.

I'm digging the combined mode heads, nice to see there's gonna be a Nemesis Prime option too. Do the larger helmets have a place to store during bot mode and vehicle mode?

So I realised this set will require pin knocking and it really bugs me to be honest..

Can you tell us exactly how many pins we will need to knock out to achieve assembly?

Now that's something I'm not sure about, as SND is dealing with all that.

I do know we're intent on getting it absolutely spot on before it goes on sale, though. You guys deserve nothing less. :D

Basically... you'll see. Watch this space, etc. :p

Alas not. There's not one iota of free space anywhere on the figure, in alt mode.

The instructions will go through everything in full, natch, but basically: 4 pins. I've made sure they're dead easy pins to get out and push out, though, as I myself have a lot of trouble doing that, and I wanted to make it easy enough for me to install.

To give you an idea of how easy they are to get out, I don't even have a pin-push. :p

I tried a few ways to do it without removing pins, but alas, there was no way to make it look good and remain stable without replacing one of the core pinned parts.
