    Hey all :)

    MORE PICS ON PAGE TWO!

I got bored the other day so i took an old KT PVC mini prime bust that i had laying around and decided to really screw him up lol.. I resently got this stuff that will add rust to pretty much anything you put it on. I few other people here in the redicons also use this stuff , thats how i found out about it..

So i applied this stuff called Rust Antiquing made by Sophisticated Finishes i believe. And pretty much what it is is a kit that comes with two bottles of stuff. One bottle has what is pretty much a gray paste made up of Iron Dust Shaving and the other bottle is a liquid that is pretty much a Copper Water Solution..

I applied the iron paste all over the Optimus Bust and let it dry .. Then i went and applied the copper water to it and put the figure in a ziplock baggy . After about an hour the rust started to form on him.

After about 36 hours the rust had taken over and pretty much covers the entire figure now.. I think it looks really cool lol.. Maybe i was something placed on Prime tomb after one of his many deaths and acid rain took its toll on it lol.

Anyways have a look and see what ya think, I may throw it up on Ebay if i don't decide to keep it :)

This is what he started out as ..

This is him after the iron paste was applied..

Then about 36 hours later this is how he looks. He is not finished rusting, it said it can continue to rust for like 2 days but i dont think it will get much more then it has..

Thanks guys :)  Glad ya liked it .

The rust seems to be very durable, it doesnt rub off or anything. I tried rubbing it with my fingers and it doesnt come off.. This stuff is really made for crafts to make things look old and such. The box said that if it was something going outside you can coat it with a clear finish to keep the rust from washing off in the rain or comming off.. But our toys wont be going outside and customs are usually not handeled as much so i doubt you would have to clear coat anything.. Clear coat may even take some of the effect of the rust away too.

The iron paste is very thick and,i thought mine was all dried up at first but i took a screw driver and mixed it up and it softened up but still thick. I guess because of the iron in it, it all settles into a big clump lol. I do not know what you could even do to thin it out since it is iron i think any liquid you add to it would make it rust ?

It is called " Rust Antiquing Set " and you can find it at any Michaels craft store for around 12$ plus tax. this is what the box looks like. You can buy bigger bottles as well.

This is the second time i used it. The first time i used it on my oversized WFC Optimus to give him some age a wear. If you want to see him you can go here. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons-customs/606115-leader-class-wfc-optimus-wip-4.html

You apply both with just a normal paint brush, i use a stiff brush with the iron paste though and a soft brush for the copper water solution.

Does the Matrix still fit in the chest piece after applying the stuff? I think it would look cool to see Prime all rusted and the Matrix unaffected by time in his chest.....just my opinion

I think it has rusted as much as it will . If I was to add more of the copper water solution it would rust even more but i think it looks good where it's at.

So i think im going to throw it on Ebay and see what happens. To kick it up a notch i made a small box for it tonight. I thought id post some pics of it up here to see what ya think :) . If you are interested in buying this or a set of 4 KT PVC or History figures just click on the Ebay link to the left :)  Also have a Custom Masterpiece Rodimus box made ofr Kabaya Rodimus up for sale as well :)

Ok so here is the box i made :)
