I'm all in for a city bots line. I don't mind downsizing from my generations metroplex for how good Utopia looks. I would likely buy the city bot and pe scorponoks, too.

Hasbro and MechaFanBoy show that size is not that much of a factor on price. Would you buy both bots at $350 total? I'm fine with Trypticon turning into a base only; G1 ftw. If there is a bot mode, then the pricing will increase.

But...What would it look like??? :inquisiti

Have any of the Radicons or any of our community customizers ever develop something? Love to see some more ideas on this.

Oh, and if you did get a Bot mode for Trypty', what existing mode would you sacrifice to have it?

Unless he is a large figure, I say sacrifice (or even remove) city mode and focus on just Bot and Beast mode. It's wishful thinking, but that would make more sense to me then a small tiny city mode.

OH!  OH that is AWESOME beyond all known comprehension! God, the customizers always come up with some of the best stuff.

Yeah, O.K. I'm sold on the bot mode if it ends up looking like that! Thanks Daimchoc for sharing that. Those pics were inspiring to say the least.

And to Eltherin, You want a city formers...without a city mode. Might be a tall order...

Have you not seen WFC or FOC Trypticon? That custom is pretty spot-on accurate to his current look.

while i have no stake in the trypticon game, i dont know, i dont see them going any route but G1 on him.
i guess they had all those WFC prime variations, ...time will tell.

I just don't see the point of cityforming unless the toy is massive like generations Plex, because WST work just about right on him.

Alright, I don't care if I'm in the minority when I state this, but seeing as city-formers are my favorite selection of Transformers (I feel quite strongly about this).

If 3rd parties are going to make a Metroplex or G1-inspired Trypticon, then there are certain hallowed essentials that must be mandatory: They both have city modes, and Trypticon retains the T-rex mode. No "robot" mode for Trypticon. The T-Rex IS the robot. It's the distinguishing trait of Trypticon. That was the whole appeal to me as a kid, having kept mine since 1986 (complete and all). It's what differentiates certain Transformers from the rank and file. Trypticon, Overkill, Sky Lynx, etc. all have beast forms as their robot modes.

If you're going to have Trypticon with no base mode, it's not the Trypticon. It's something else, like a 3rd party shattered glass Trypticon or classics Trypticon. Things that were other characters initially, given a purple and black deco, and the name Trypticon slapped on it. If a robot form absolutely needs to be included, then the T-Rex form and the city mode are the absolute last things that should be compromised. It's like saying have Classics optimus prime have a gorilla mode, maybe the truck mode should be sacrificed.

I doubt MT would make their Trypticon WfC-ish, much as I'd love that they're more likely to just do their own spin on the g1 version, dino bot mode, base mode and all that. Their Metroplex is the same, he's got far more in common with g1 plex than foc plex.

If they do deviate in any capacity from the g1 I'd says its more likely to just lead to an additional jet/land vehicle mode of some type.

Well, his appearance in those games is his main appearance in the franchise asides from G1 Season 3, and he has a much bigger and more interesting role in the games----thus his "new look" in them spawns much of the desire for a new toy of him.

When Planet-X had their vote going on, they used the pic of FOC Trypticon.

I'm down with a bigass Scorponok to go with my MP Decepticons. Bring it on!

I'd rather Hasbro do Trypticon anyway. :p

You need to play the games. You won't be disappointed....maybe. :confused2

To shay. I guess I just assumed that if a third party did release it, then it would be the size of Hasbro's Plex. Thinking about it now, that would rather make the price "Titan Class"...

Who's wallets up for third party Titan class figures? :lol

Yeh I honestly don't think it would be taller then 12 inches, much like their Plex.

Update from Maketoys site: MCB-03 is Pandinus, a Scorponok homage.

Edit: looks like he's got a new thread now so I won't bother mirroring the other pics.

So two Scorponoks at once, interesting.... Maybe a third in the works by another company like Predaking :)

I just hope he doesn't suffer aesthetically due to the "gimmicks".
