    Corey Burton (I)

I was doing some browsing around the news on Transformers 3 and on IMDB it says it is Rumoured that Corey Burton (the original Shockwave from G1) is returning his role as Shockwave in the third movie.

    Believe it or not?

IMDB can be user updated. that's how the "rumor" started.

but it would be cool if he ends up being shockwave

isn't it listed somewhere in the rules NOT to quote imdb? I thought it was just common knowledge. Hey I know I'll go in there and say my son is going to voice Shockwave. That's right, a five year old autistic boy (who sounds like a girl right now due to his tonsils being taken out yesterday) will voice shockwave.

Though IMDb isn't very trustworthy when it comes to info on upcoming movies, I wouldn't doubt it if Bay&co. decided to cast Corey Burton as Shockwave. He's the only one who can truly represent that character much like Peter Cullen with Optimus Prime and Frank Welker with Megatron.

    I would like to believe...

Uh...But Welker didn't voice Meg in the movies.

wow hearing that G-1 Shockwave voice in the TF3 movie would be leaps & bounds awesome.

One thing I liked about the G-1 TF voice actors. is they all had unique voices that didn't sound generic like todays anime voice actors do.

...and Burton isn't going to cost as much as Welker. Which Bay might like since it wont cut into his profit margin as much.

Who could forget such unique characters as Dirge, Thrust, and errrm Skramjet?

...and then there was the fact that several of the season 2 Autobots had this pseudo-British accent.

    Yeah, very unique.

But then i guess nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

I have to disagree. I'm running through the G1 series an Youtube last few months and a lot of the characters really do have rather distinct voices, enough so that I feel confident a voice clip could be played and I could ID the character without seeing them.
