RUMOR: Universe Bruticus Cancelled...

    so, my cousin (EMTratchet) sent me a text saying he called targets 800 number and the rep he talked to said the SKU was removed from the system and that they aren't shipping him anymore. They confirmed that the 1st shipments were the only shipments...but now its cancelled...

    thought i'd pass this along...personally, i hope its not true, and that maybe they are just repackaging him again or doing something, cuz i need my 3rd energon bruticus fix...but damn it if he is cancelled...

    I really hope its not true. We haven't seen any in our area at all.

    Isn't this the standard operating procedure for Target's exlcusives? One shipment and then done.

    I wouldn't worry. The phone reps and store employees often have little insight into how the SKUs/DPCIs are managed. Back in early 2007 when we'd gotten some of the first movie DPCIs, I had a Target employee tell me there was "no way" they'd be carrying the Transformers movie line because the DPCIs were showing "closed" (or something like that).

    I don't even bother asking anymore.

    Woah, I came into this thread surprised to find that people actually cared about this piece. :eek: 

    From where I am, the TFU version took more than half a year to clear from retail shelves so I doubt we're gonna see these again.

    What does "replenished" mean, actual new, repeated shipments? Superion aside, I do believe the Titaniums, Animated voyager/activator packs, Ultra Magnus/Skywarp, Robovision Prime, Universe Nemesis Prime, etc. were all "one and done" type exclusives with Target. So everything sounds pretty "normal".

    The 3 targets in my area never stocked these at all, and they are usually really good about keeping up with what is new and out.
    I don't believe this is true.....at least I hope not.

    What you posted implies to me that even if something made it to the store that someone wouldn't be able to buy it... which clearly is not the case. So perhaps your original post was unclear.

    Well, since Target doesn't do anything by SKU as they have their own system, this really has no weight. I doubt it's 'cancelled.' Like other's are saying, all exclusives are shipped out, and then it's done. But each store gets a LOT in order to keep some in backstock, so that they can put them out during pulls whenever supplies gets low. Plus, the 1-800 people never know what the hell they're talking about.

    What version is the TFU one, Universe 2.0 or Energon - as those are the only versions of this figure? The Universe 2.0 version hasn't been out for a year and a half, and is the same as the RotF only different packaging.

    I hope others are able to get this figure, I've had the Universe version for so many months now.
