The following in bold is the article, not my words. I think this is a bad choice. I don't really like Jason Statham. So what's going to happen? Carly is going to have a new boyfriend and it will be Jason?
RUMOR: Transformers 4 Greenlit; Jason Statham Set To Take Over From Shia LaBeouf?

It was bound to happen eventually. Now Shia LaBeouf has said he won't be back for another Transformers movie, the rumor mill claims that Rosie Huntington Whitely's boyfriend Jason Statham is set to take over...
According to Showbiz Spy, Jason Statham is being lined up to take over as lead character in the next Transformers movie. Apparently, the fantastic box office takings since the movie opened last Wednesday have convinced Paramount to move ahead with a fourth instalment, and the British star is their top pick! As usual, take the following (along with the apparent plans for a fourth movie) with a pinch of salt...

"One of the stars being mentioned is Rosie’s boyfriend Jason Statham," says a Hollywood insider.

"It’s clear the franchise still has huge potential but with a new leading man capable of taking Transformers in a new, darker direction. Jason could be just the man to do that and his relationship with Rosie would be an added bonus in marketing the movie."

I doubt this is true since most directors like to have a say in who they'll be directing. Considering the movie just came out and there's no clear future for the franchise, I wouldn't believe this rumor at all.

I'm waiting for a rumour that has maybe the Warchowski Bros or the guy who did District 9 to be the director..

No to the Wachowski Bros as they are just way too weird for my tastes and am not that big a fan of their work, especially the Matrix sequels and Speed Racer.

maybe if they fast forward a few years, they can have little daniel playing with wheelie and brains while sam is the awesome cussing badass future self like in the original movie

speed racer sucked, but the matrix and its sequels still rain supreme in terms of science fiction movies.

The action sequences in the Matrix sequels were fine but I found a lot of the other stuff kind of monotonous and boring.

Are you kidding me?! Speed Racer was amazing! It was just as over top and crazy as the cartoon was! It WAS a live action cartoon with the stylization, and so well done to boot.

Maybe it sucked to me since I don't really know that much about Speed Racer and its supposed tone.

Basically the movie was a live action anime movie. That's the best way I can describe it. The cartoon was ridiculous, and so was the movie.
Plus it has Christina Ricci and her crazy eyes. I love them.
