Indeed. Although, chances are, if TT does him (and they will) and Hasbro does the IDW head, then TT will probably do the G1 version. Just hate the idea of dropping $90 for one...

 

I haven't seen Masterforce, but I admit I find the concept of the original Overlord a bit more intriguing (a husband and wife team up) than, well, one guy.

Well, we were getting updates to TFs before IDW became a big thing, so it's entirely possible we may have still. We don't know.

 

Young Prime is right, IDW Reinvigorated G1 themes. And it's the only semblance of G1 in modern fiction so ULTRA HARDCORE G1 fans soften up, IDW is the only media carrying the torch, not the cartoons, not movie-verse.

 

It just sounds like people can't accept that there are those who just don't dig IDW and would prefer to have a more G1 face.

I don't give a single damn what IDW did for Transformers. I couldn't care a single bit. I vastly prefer G1 representations over IDW ones, period.

That being said, considering we know nothing about how Overlord is even going to be presented, I'm not stressing it. Honestly I'm loving every bit of Titans Returns and I just can't wait for Overlord. Plus, like how Takara did a pure G1 head for Chromedome, if Hasbro does the IDW face for Overlord I'll just go Takara. Easy as that.

 

I have no connection to IDW personally so I'd love for a toy face personally over all three faces available. But I hope it isn't a Chromedome incident where since I have to stick to Hasbro due to budget I'm stuck with my least preferred face. I'd LOVE to get Takara's offering but 40 dollars is a bit much (I'll take Hasbro's for now), can only imagine the price for Overlord.

 

I can't wait for Overlord to end up on my shelf if he really will be release.

 

maybe if IDW was a novel with no pictures at all, I would enjoy it more, but since its not and its a comic book instead , I seriously hate it.

 

It's *possible* Hasbro could pay homage to his dual Powermaster gimmick by giving him two different Titanmasters. One to pilot each vehicle and a spot to store the spare in robot mode. Then he'd have two different faces.

I don't know how much that change would impact the cost/production, but maybe Overlord only has *one* gun and they build the rest of his base mode details into panels somehow.

 

I really hope that all these rumors come true.

Except I will get it my way in the end. Takara and all. I got it my way during Combiner Wars and it won't be any different here. I'm pretty much high on G1 right now. Plus I don't know why anyone would laugh. I don't know why you are treating this like a war.

What I'm seeing is people saying everyone MUST like IDW no matter what. Individual preferences dont matter. Fuck that. I like what I like, not what others say I should.

Also let's take a look on how slavishly G1 Titans Returns has been. The only thing remotely even IDW has been Chromedome's head which realistically isn't even a big deal. I just don't like it and I knew Takara would go even more G1 than Hasbro. So yeah, no sulking here. I get to have my cake AND eat it too!

It's CAKE, your suppose to eat it and it's cool to have options. My issue is with the flat out trolling and killing the vibe in this thread with pointless negativity. I addressed the person doing so and you choose to join his bandwagon with disrespect and a clear lack of class and so here we are.

And for the record no one is forcing you to like anything but at the end of the day IDW is the continuation of G1 in many ways IMO and that's what's bothering or threatening to people like you. Otherwise you wouldn't be so intent on b*tching about it while claiming to be happy with the status quo in the same sentence.

Note: I don't like the Bayformers films or those current cartoons but at this point I'm willing to admit that they're a necessary evil that helps the TF franchise as a whole. So acknowledging part of what got you "your cake" won't somehow kill you.
