Rumor: Sony Upgrading PS3 Hard Drive?

    as much as i see this as a good thing...with the current price of the 60gb, i can only imagine what a 80gb version would cost. the 360 Elite added a black shell, headset, HDMI output, a 120gb HD (100 more than the standard), only for $40 more.

    and if this is true, like the 360 with smaller cpu chip, i'll wait for the newer one to come out before i buy the system.

    The Elite is 80 more, im pretty sure. And an 80 gig HD really just isn't enough of a jump, unless maybe they knock the 60 down to 500 and reveal this 80 at the current 600 with some extra features.

    I don't thnk 20 gigs justifies an extra $100. I'm more expecting them to replace the 60G model with an 80G as the "new" standard, and keep the price the same.

    See, this only drives home Nintendo's blue ocean policy. The PS3 has only been out a few months, and already Microsoft and Sony are killing themselves to one-up each other. All the while, Nintendo simply saunters away, whistling a happy tune, continuing to sell out everywhere.
