    Metroplex, 2008, under $100.

I think people are being too catastrophic with their Fort Max pricing guesses.

If the Korean Brave Max reissue went for $150 four-to-five years ago or so when BBTS had them, what do you think a Fort Max (with ALL the accessories, something Brave Max lacked) will go for now with a different exchange rate and stuff generally priced a bit higher anyways?

Anyways, I'd rather mentally prepare to shell out a huge amount and be pleasantly surprised that it's cheaper than think "Oh no, it won't top $200" and then find out it's anywhere from $100-150+ more than that.

But, Metroplex is about 4X smaller than Fort Max.

Fort Max is big but he is simple. Going by the MP Prime price point of $250 and that was set to test the market; I'm going to spec $250 on this one.

I'm going to say $350ish. He's just too damn big. He's really heavy. Lots of plastic goes into making one of these. I'm just sitting here playing with my Fort Max and can see him going for $250. I'd love another at that price but damn... That's going to be tough. I'd love to see the box he'd come in btw :)

I'm only missing 2 pieces to complete my Fort Max. So if they do reissue him, I'll make sure to track down those last 2 parts beforehand as I suspect that some people will buy the reissue and part it out on ebay as original parts.

I wonder if Grand Maximus will follow. Grand Max is the holy grail of my collection. I also had a Super God Ginrai way before Takara, and then Hasbro, reissued him. That was a huge kick in the crotch.

I wouldn't get too excited yet. We've never seen Battle Gaia or Metrotitan reissued and there's no current indication that a Greatshot reissue's happening in light of the earlier news about a Sixshot re-reissue. Grand Max would be great because of the extra accessories (like the Pretender shell) that were exclusive to that release, but Fort Max isn't even officially confirmed yet let alone for what price or how well it'll sell. New Grand and Brave Max releases can be thought about later on (though I do hope Takara's keeping them in mind, if this Fort Max business really is more than just lip service).

Back in 2008, I could buy a Deluxe class Henkei! Henkei! figure for +/- SGD $25 off the shelves. Fast forward to today, a Deluxe class United figure pre-order price is SGD $40 and SGD $45 to $50 on the shelves. Go figure.

But Fortress Maximus is bigger than Metroplex. Taking inflation and other factors into account, the most expensive Encore at release price is Devastator which costs SGD $140. Omega Supreme is probably the most expensive Encore if comparing Yen price, because a few years back the exchange rate was not this bad. And Fortress Maxmius is bigger than both.

I know, but I still don't see $400-$500 happening like some people expect.

I like the Seibertron galleries, but it seems a ridiculous oversight not to have a Max/Met comparison shot. Yeah, he looks almost twice as tall as that Ultimate Bumblebee. And how expensive was Ultimate BB? $200? $300? No. About $100.

And unlike Ultimate BB and other new toys, Takara doesn't need to try to recoup development costs for Fort Max anymore. Not to mention, Ultimate BB was an infinitely more complex toy.

No G1/G2 toy qualifies as complex by modern standards but that hasn't stopped them from being expensive still.

    2010 Predaking - $180ish?
Encore Bruticus - $80ish in '09, probably more if it were released now
    Encore Devs - $120ish
Encore Omega - $100+ when first released in '08 or so?

Again, if Fort Max is released in two years and cheaper than $200 to import (even if the exchange rate doesn't get better in two years), that's GREAT news for those that want one. I just don't see how, given its huge size and weight as a 20+ year old toy, that it's the same price or even a mere $20 more than Predaking. $250 is my low-end guess based on recent prices and the exchange rate, with $300-350 a possibility depending on how things go in the next two years.

I'd gladly pay $300 for a mint Fort Max. :D

Even a little more if there's tampographs instead of stickers.

I'm not ruling out $300-$350. I don't want to encourage them to go that high, but I could see it as an upper extreme. What I don't see is the $400-$500 some people are talking about.
