If we get an Alternity Megatron that looks as nice as Convoy, I'll be a very happy man.

 

Just thought of something.

With the Tokyo Auto Show coming up next month, and the potential showing of the Nissan 370Z, could Megatron possibly be that?

Or would that be too much in advance, since they are just now "confirming"?

 

Masterpiece Grimlock!!!??? I really hope it's true!

 

I'd be very surprised if it isn't the new model, the design for the real car would have been finalised months ago so Takara have had plenty of time to do this in secret to get it out alongside the real thing.

 

Exciting rumours, hope they're true! The Alternity line is looking like it'll be pretty neat...

 

MP Grimlock sounds like much potential awesome, and i'm only slightly LESS interested in Megatron as an overpriced deluxe car then i was Prime....

 

though i love the G1 dinobots, i'm not into transformer toys that are animals or dinosaurs or insects. i have to see pics of MP Grimlock to convince myself... (bah! i'll probably get it. i love the masterpiece line!)

 

MP Grimlock...sounds awesome...but I really would like to see a pic or sample of it

 

I would buy a MP Grimlock only if:
* both modes were updated as in a T-rex not godzilla and a robot not a kibble monster.
* He was in scale with the other MP transformers making him worth the price because he would be enormous.
* And like a couple people have already said if they make one that should make all the dinobots. Slag would be awesome as an up to date Triceratops.

I would still like all the main movie bots to get the Mp treatment as well Hotrod, Arcee, and Kup would be awesome.

True. But if this is actually confirmed, then I'd imagine it would be the 350Z... Seeing as that no one actually know what the 370Z looks like (Aside from user generated pictures).

Regardless, this really is interesting stuff. Hopefully we hear something credible soon.

 

Takara already worked with Nissan on the GT-R man, the design for this new car will be done and dusted by now if it's being unveiled next month so Takara could very easily announce a toy of it to tie in with the Tokyo motor show.

 

That clears up a lot of stuff then. I didn't know that actually worked with Nissan on the GT-R..

Well I would assume that they did, it's licensed so I can't imagine that plans for the car just fell in Takara's lap. They did have a GT-R on their display stand at a recent show.

You're theorising that Takara made the GT-R Convoy based on whatever press materials they could find and in such case they wouldn't be privy to the design specs of the new 350Z?

In that case then yeah it could be the old model but it'd be a very dumb move.  

 

If Grimlock is slated to come out in March, shouldn't there be prototype pictures floating around by now?

 

We had a very similar situation with MP Megatron, Takara isn't as keen as Bandai on showing it's products in early stages, possibly because of all the fuss over MP Starscream. Besides which, March is still five months away, plenty of time for this to happen if they've been working on it for a while.

 

Yay to grimlock, now start producing a masterpiece dinobot snarl figure!! Stegosaurus was always my fave dinosaur!
