I'm not denying the legitimacy of SGCollect.com's sources and such, but there is little in each of those threads that prove a confirmation that I read aside from the moderator chiming in and saying "confirmed: X" with no proof.

Perhaps I'm missing something? I'm definitely not trying to be a smarty pants; I'm simply saying that I'm not seeing anything much that actually confirms each claim.

Grimlock appears to be quite pricey, even by MP standards.

Yeah, for Grimlock, that's all that was posted. The posts on each of these just say "this just in. confirmed: X". That's it. I didn't see anything that even proved that bit of information.

So Megs is only going to be a Z? If it's true then he's got nothing on the R35 Convoy :lol

It'd have been nicer to see Megs as a ZR1 or better yet, a 911 Turbo to match with the current situation between Porsche and Nissan. ^_^

Echoing SQ7... there's no confirmation there. Megatron as a version of the ancient Prowl/Streaker/Screen mode? Grimlock significantly more expensive than previous MPs? Interesting maybe, but will wait for pics.

Without at least some hint of a source I'm skeptical. Can't say as I've followed the SGCollect forums, does anyone who frequents there know if the person posting the info is usually reliable with things like this? It might be one of those "inside sources we are not able to disclose" things.

200 bucks? wow, it better worth the price, hope he is made out of metal, it's not that i want to pay more for shipping, but diecast > plastic

If Megatron is a Fairlady, it's got to be the 350Z and not the original Prowl 280Z. Still, weird to have two very similar car models.

I'm all for Grimlock, if that price means that he's mostly scale accurate to Megs and OP. Bring it!

Yeah, this is essentially all I was trying to say. I didn't want to discount SGCollect, but the posts with the information just didn't have any meat on the bones, so to speak. It just seems like the forum moderator came on and posted tiny bits of information, and it was to simply be taken as fact with little to no evidence.

MP Grimlock has been rumored for quite some time, and (while this won't happen because the staff here are diligent to seek the truth on news claims) there's nothing stopping anyone on this board from posting the same type of information to simply be taken as fact.

    (For example:
    [Newsie TFW2005_Guy post]

    MP Grimlock confirmed
    Price: $XXX
    color: silver
    materials: plastic w/ diecast parts
    release: March 2009

    [/post])

Like I said, I'm not discounting anything, but I'd like to see something more. Confirmed from who? From where? How can this information be trusted? Those types of things.

Guess it depends on the credibility of the poster. I know jack-squat about the SGCollect forum members, but if a credible someone here like Kickback or S250 or a well-known toy dealer made the same claim verbatim, It'd be easier to believe.

(Not that I'm sucking around for that kind of confirmation, mind you. ;)  )

With the current coversion rates, Grimlock rings at around 130 USD. Not holding my breath over die-cast, but that's either a very complex figure, a huge figure, or something in-between.

Megatron as a whole new mould sounds promising, bring it on!

Well I hope if that’s the case we get an all plastic US version, I'm not to keen on toys where the paint flakes off and is over heavy topples over and shatters.

You must have bought different MPs to me ;)

If this pans out to be true, and if an MP Grimlock is larger in bot mode than MP Convoy & Megs, and at least as complex as Convoy... i'll bite at the higher price. But for now, still waiting 'til the day we see pics..

There doesn't appear to be enough
meat on this rumor to make it news.
A pic or 2 or a credible source would help but a notation in a post on a forum makes this only rumor.
It'll be news when and if takara/tomy announces them.

The guy there could be someone working for a hobby mag or what not, I'll wait till the end of the month and see what turns up before I get excited/angry.

Both seem plausible though, a higher price is not unexpected for Grimlock unless you want him to be smaller then Prime, in which case there would be much bitching.
