I like the rubsigns, I just don't like their placement on many of the Cl.1.0 figures. They should show in alt-mode but not bot-mode. Like Classics Optimus or Hot Rod (though I really wish he had the chest emblem).

Ultra Magnus has both rubsign and painted insignias and it works great. It should've been that way with all the toys.

 

I love rubsigns on G1 and Classics only.

I like them. I don't know why but I like them. They're just a big part of Transformers.

 

I like them ,but I've never liked their placement. I'd prefere if they were done the same way as the spark crystals in BW and BM where they are hidden in a panel or something like that so you can reveal them.

I have no use for rubsigns whatsoever.

 

i'd rather have faction symbols like tfu's dinobot, on more transformers, with the autobot and decepticon symbols hidden in vehicle mode, but show in robot mode.

that way there would be no NEED for rubsigns.

i never liked the symbols on the alter modes anyways. the only exception was Movie Barricade's Police/decepticon symbol.

i DO like the rubsigns on g1's though, and beast wars too. but on new transformers, they just seem, so out of place, heck, ANY stickers on the new ones would seem out of place. in the era of sculpture and paint applications, we do not need them.

just paint a symbol on a part that does not show in altermode.

though i still would of preferred if they used the Dinobot signs on the new TFA dinobots, rather then use autobot symbols, and make them their "own" faction by themselves.

I like them mostly as long as there's a place molded on the figure for them. Nothing sucks more than a rubsign peeling off because the edges are exposed, especially on slightly curved bits. The one on my Astrotrain's leg has lost the top layer because it curved off.
Also, I don't want normal faction logos sacrificed in favour of rubsigns, and vice versa. If that's the case then I'd prefer actual logos. I suppose there's a cost involved and having a rubsign means less paint apps, and since the rubsign is a faction logo then a tapoed logo is the obvious choice to drop.
I think they're good if they serve a logical purpose, so like others have said I'd like a rubsign showing in alt mode as part of the disguise, and then a proper faction logo revealed when transformed to robot mode.

 

I wish they'd cut the rubsigns so you don't get that grey part around them too.

Rubsigns are the sheeeeet. I have only been collecting again since the movie. So I missed out on the early classics. Got Classics Prime for V-Day....and i haven't stopped holding my thumb on his passenger side door.

 

I'd like to see rubsigns on Universe TFs alongside printed faction symbols.
