They're much thicker than the Hasbro ones, and you have to cut them out yourself.

I love their rub-signs. I've used them on my classics customs. they're great.

On the figure. Some early ones didn't (Cheetor) but everything transmetal and past had them somewhere on the body. A lot of the pre-transmetals had them aswell.

They were made as a way of showing they were Authentic Transformers, and no Gobots or any other form of transforming toys. I always thought they were cool, I was a kid, and they were like magic. :p  Now its a cool nostalgic trip.

    Well duh lol
Fair enough, I don't have any Transmetal BW figures
All the early ones I have don't and the TM2 figs have the spark crystals, so I wasnt aware of them being on Transmetals.

I don't know if they'll peel over time, I only applied them to perfectly flat surfaces, not on any curved surfaces, so in my case they're unlikely to peel. As for cutting them, if you can cut good right angles, then you'll be fine.

I never really saw the attratcion to rub symbols, myself. Classics taught me to hate them, though. A rub sign is no substitute for a proper faction insignia.

Actually, I think it is. I have bought Reprolabels rubsigns for Classics and 'bashes, and developed a sort of rule for insignias. I don't want blatant insignias in disguise modes, so I only apply those stickers in places that only show in robot mode. I put a rubsign showing in alt-mode, so I can show the allegiance if I want to. If there isn't anywhere to put robot mode logos that don't show in alt-mode, I'll use a rubsign as the main insignia (like Hot Rod and Bumblebee's chests).

rub signs were like authentication, and the way autobots and decepticons id'ed each other.
but it was a gimmick of the times- like my bro-in law had a t-shirt back then that changed colors as it got hot or wet.

we had our quirky stuff and well, it is hard to bail on that.

for me, buying the rub signs for my newer toys is a luxury at the moment. but i am not against having them on toys i won't resell.
