not sure if it's been done before but i did search the tutorials section for almost an hour and didn't see anything.(i kept getting sidetracked in there too:eek: :D

for those who are interested in the look, this is a really simple mod to do.
if you want to make your tracks roof go from this...
to this....without seperating his rear hatch.
all you need are these basic tools,
    coarse grit emery board
    fine grit enery board
    240 grit sand paper
jewellers snips or a small pair of side cutters
    [IMG]
start by taking the cutters and snipping off the excess chunk off his rear end/robo-hoodie.
the yellow shows what you're getting rid of,the red shows the line yor cut should follow.
after cutting, sand the cut area flush and level with the rest of the front leading edge of the piece.
moving onto the canopy, clip the very bottom back corners of the sid windows, about 1/16th up from the bottom, with the other end of your cut ending below and centered with the canopy pin.
the yellow shows what gets removed, the red shows the cut.
on the top rear corners of the canopy, take the coarse grit emery board and round off the corners at almost a 45 degree angle.come back with the finer grit emery board afterwards.
keep opening and closing the canopy with the rear robo -hoodie in place while you're sanding.the minute it opens freely, lightly sand it a wee bit more to make a nice round and more room for paint if you desire.
the yellow shows what gets removed, the red shows the angle to sand
    [IMG]
while doing the upper rear sanding part, ensure you keep the emery board as straight or perpendicular to the rear of the canopy as possible, otherwise you'll end up with a gap that looks odd and must be filled.
the green square shows a good gap,the red square shows what'll happenif you don't pay attention.
once done, you can choose to touch up the small areas with some matching blue paint if you want.

ta-dah(but no interior seats like roddy)

An opening canopy, especially on a car that has no interior and obviously is supposed to have regular doors, seems odd.

However I'm interested in the other mods you have going on.

    lolz,you'll see soon i hope:wink:

extra ways to get in/out lolz;p
seriously though, for tracks,it could be a throw back to the hatch the original g1 had in his roof to insert the diaclone drivers.for wheeljack(who this would probably work better with)it would be a perfect simple throwback to his g1 alt mode's canopy.

    soon:D

    lolz,indulge your inner gamer:rock

    how did you?nah,just kidding,not even close:wink:

that would be a sweet crossover.
    somebody call turboedguy quick!!!!!

thanks, and yes, this mod kinda works with tracks but it's almost perfect for w/j.

Can't wait to see what you use this guy for. Looks like an import racer or something. Nice mod, too.

Man, that's cool. You gave me an idea for my custom Tracks seeing the back end flipped back in that one photo. I don't want to do the top car canopy thing but the back end opening up to reveal a custom engine would look hot if I can fit it in there and still transform.

    *runs to work area*

Yeah I don't get the point of the mod either. It would be different if he had molded seats inside but there's nothing but kibble in there. Nice idea though.
