I only bought it for the Cyclonus, but my rodimus was pretty good otherwise. The heavy matrix was a nice surprise as well!

Agreed. My RtS and CaC Hot Rods actually have tighter joints than my Henkei and Classics versions.

It's like... all the money they saved on not having to use nice plastic, and paint. Went to the doofy matrix. lol

Mine are great as well. I have to BIS Cycloni open for "his Armada" and neither one has any problems.

Does anyone have a scale to compare the weight of old roddy to bis roddy?
That'd be a good way to know if bis roddy is cheaper.

Also the matrix sorta fits into Thunderwings chest.

I used an old letter scale to weight my Henkei and BiS Hot Rods. I don't know if the scale is still accurate, but it produced the same value for both figures, ~4 1/2 oz. with their weapons included.

My BIS Hot Rod is pretty good. Plastic feels about the same as most of my other TFs. His left arm, while a little loose, isn't gonna pop off without some force and can be posed just fine. My only nitpicks are that his windshield/backpack doesn't lock in place, and that the wheel on one of his legs (forget which atm) doesn't like to return to its robot mode position without some serious assistance.

Other than that, I've got no issues. I don't mind the bright colours, feel like they offset the serious look he has on his face. Just would have liked a little better contrast with the fire on his hood/chest.

Is the matrix die cast or is it plastic?

Same. I never had any problem with my set, except that the plastic on Cyclonus's wings feels...different.

the matrix is a heavy little bugger. You can break a window by throwing it.

I had a similar problem too but nothing like a good 'ol nail polish & now it's all tight.

Overall my figure is fine. I love him :)
