I was at 5 below today and I picked up a few rts legend class megs and starscream's when I noticed one particular starscream had an all silver head/helmet versus the all black version, so I passed it off as just a factory error untill I spotted another one, of course my camera battery is not working but I will try and post some pics, could thid be a variant or just a batch with some errors? i'm thinking the latter but idk?

 

Never heard of the variant but now I'm just glad to add Five Below to my list of places to look for those....

 

in the 2 stores I have been in they are right up by the register and there are a ton, its good stuff.

 

The variant has been known since before they were released, awesome that you actually found them where you are at because my area never got them at all.

 

Aw man, that is really good news. I have not been able to find Megatron or Starscream at Ross, but I have gotten Goldbug, Trailbreaker/cutter and Prowl. I left Optimus, probably shouldn't have. What state are you in? I know a few Five Belows in PA.

 

I just thought the plain headed Starscream was just a pre-release thing. If I see a plain headed one, I'll buy it.

There are some people that have the gray helmeted one. I think it was mostly only available in Asia though. If you look at one of the other threads featuring images of the TakaraTomy EZ Collection Chronicles figures, you can see a comparison of Thundercracker to that version of Starscream (with the gray helmet).

There were also at least some packaged samples of Megatron with a gray barrel instead of an orange one. I don't know if those hit retail at all, but there were some on eBay at least.

man that would be cool to find a silver barrel megs too, I love that figure but cant figure out why they would make the tip of the barrel yellow?

 

If anyone can pick me up a MOSC silver-helmet U.S. version of Starscream, I would gladly pay up to $10 plus shipping for it.

Its the law. Toy guns have to have an orange tip, which rts megs is considered.

 

Which is incredibly silly for a gun the size of my thumb.

I should have took a pic cause it was awesome, I went to the back being thats where all the toys are and only found some rotf stuff so as I was walking out I glanced at the register area and there they were, 12 pegs of em, sort of a mental pic if you will, hope that helps
