Well, I took a look around Rotten Tomatoes top 100 sci-fi movies and see that they rated E.T as their #1 movie for sci-fi. I think that's a little offbeat, but that's because I don't dig that movie, but I wont disagree that it -was- a good movie. It's the first time I have even seen this website. Whats the word on them, they good, bad, or just another website that thinks that they know everything about anything?
They review movies and such...I hadn't visited the site more than twice until the movie came out. The only reason I ever when to it was for the TF movie, and because of threads bitching about reviewers bitching about the movie. I feel review sites are really dumb and pointless. I know what movie I will or will not like so why depend on a review from someone else?
It collects many critic's reviews. I think any given critic's review is without value, so I think the entire site is similarly without value. I personally rely on people whose opinions I trust to decide whether or not I see a film, not someone who makes a living passing judgment on others.
They seem pretty good, but they're rating system is a bit tough. So tough that just 60% is a "good" movie. I don't think there has been a movie on that site with a perfect 100 before.
It has upcoming movie news, along with the reviews, but isn't as good as say AICN for that. If you listen to critics, then its a good site, but if you don't you probably won't like it much. --Moony
AICN??? That's the last place you should go for just about anything. No movie should ever get 100 either. A 100 would mean that every single critic liked it and gave it a positive review. There is no such thing as a movie that everyone likes.
