    Hi!

I'm a bit of a lurker here and haven't posted anything for a while.

I've had a few days off work so completed this guy yesterday.
Rotorstorm was made using the AOE Drift as a base for the body with the brass/gold coloured parts swapped out for HFTD Skyhammer's white and light grey bits, original G1 head and guns, and a pair of Dr Wu 'Double-Pole' katanas in clear pink for his swords/Rotorblades.

I made a quick and dirty dual scabbard/rotor assembly with a 5mm peg so the swords store on his back when not held, and the 5mm port in his chest spins freely.

Wow, that looks phenomenal. How did you manage to get the cockpit pieces off to color them?

Thanks! The cockpit is coloured with transparent magenta self-adhesive vinyl.
The photos look smoother than it came out in-hand unfortunately. The vinyl was pressed into the recesses of the 'frame' with a toothpick, and pin-pricked to force the air out then pressed in again to get the fit right, then it was carefully trimmed with a hobby knife.

Oh wow, that's crazy. So do you think it'd be impossible to actually remove those pieces?

Nah, the vinyl should just peel off with no damage or gunk left on the parts underneath.
In the meantime though it's stuck on really well, definitely going nowhere!

No, I meant, if I were to disassemble my own skyhammer, do you think it's possible to remove the yellow cockpit pieces from the shoulders?

Oh right I see now. Yes it is, they come off fairly easily once the screws are out and the shoulders are popped apart. There's a pin holding the clear cockpit part onto the front of the shoulder/cockpit, but the plastic is thin so it comes out easily. The shoulders on this guy are originally Skyhammer's and I took the cockpit 'glass' out before stickering it up. Hope that helps!

I’ve got an AOE Drift lying around and you’ve given me inspiration. Also got parts of a skyhammer too.

Skyhammers head would make a good Drift head if someone was willing to make a new face and it fits perfectly on the Classics Lambo mold

This is great. I’m totally stealing this. What did you use for the rocket launchers? G1?

Thanks! I should've said this wasn't my idea originally. You're right, the guns and head are original G1. It's amazing how well they go on a more modern body
