Rotorstorm: G1 Articulated **Updated with WIP pics and how-to and notes and stuff!*

    Here we go again.

For my third attempt at Rotorstorm, I decided to articulate the G1 original.

After snagging a nice example off eBay for $15Aus, :thumbs2: , i was off to work adding:

-neck rotation (simple mod to where the head is attached)
    -shoulder rotation (legos)
    -bicep rotation (more legos)
    -wrist rotation (screws)
-ball jointed hips (even more legos (bionicle))
    - ...and separating his legs.

**All without affecting transformation or alt-mode**

also seen here are Pyro, Guzzle, Ironfist, G2 Jolt, Some Predators, my un-finished Rack 'n' Ruin and Twintwist, and versions 1 and 2 of Rotorstorm. And my Bunneh, Ichabod.

Criticism and comments are welcome as always, thanks for looking!

*UPDATE: wip pics and how-to stuff on page 2*

Also, I am curious as to which legos you used and how you used them. Great job!

OK, here is some how-to stuff and how i used the lego and such. Sorry it isn't really perfectly step-by-step, but it covers all the hard stuff.

    Shoulder Rotation:

Notes: the lego piece will need to be tightened so it just doesn't spin freely (glue or nail polish), and the 4 little round bits need to be shaved down a bit before the arm is re-attached.

Notes: sorry there isn't a picture of the bionicle pieces before i hacked 'em up, but they are from a "Hero Factory Stormer 2.0". The Arms.

    General Notes :

    - Taking this guy apart is a pain.

    - to get the head and legs off, you need to take apart the main body.

    - The main body is held together with 2 pins. knocking them out is hard, as BOTH ends of the pin have the burred part to keep them in, so you have to fight it the whole way no matter what.

    - Don't mess with the spring loaded mechanism inside the main body. Seriously.

    - When you are in there, round off rotorstorm's "neck" (the smaller piece just under the head, not the larger bit on the very bottom) to let his neck turn. I used a hack-saw blade.

    - If you do the ball jointed hips, glue it back together in alt-mode so the legs will sit right.

    - Do wrists first, then biceps, then shoulders. NOT the exact opposite order, like I did.

    - OH! take out the ratcheting piece in the elbow for more range of movement, the joint stays really tight.

So there, notes on how to articulate an obscure 90's figure noone really has. :thumb

Thanks so much! I have Thunderclash, Boss and Hurricane of the Turbomasters in the pipeline, but they are probably months away. And some Predators, cashflow depending.

Thankyou for your kind words, I'm glad you said that, as I've always thought this mould was amazing, just lacking in articulation. I Honestly think it's the best Transformers of its time, it's just so cool.

No worries dude, hope they are of some help. everyone deserves to enjoy this mould and its potential.

Thanks again to everyone for looking, more customs from me are on their way! :D

Perfect! And he looks so good among his team fellows.

Love you Rack 'n Ruin too!

You now need to articulate Stalker and the predators too, it will be ease since you mastered your new technique.
