There were several instances of Labeouf hand gesturing and staring passed the camera for the call. This was not the case for the other movies so I've been wondering if the editor or director actually noticed or cared about it at all.

    Referencing:
Forest battle, Shia waves his hand prior to Megatron saying "Is the future of our race not worth a single human life?"

i'd like to show some kind of image to bring my point direct, do not know if that is allowed for movies, but its clear that what I am talking about is above everyone's heads.

Theirs a stick/branch sticking up from the ground, it's thin, and because the camera is focused on Shia it makes the branch virtually invisible. Shia is pushing it away from his face as he's getting up.

Wow, nice catch, I see the twig falling, but before that he is already staring in that direction like he was looking for the signal to move. Even after moving the twig he was still staring for a moment. It's almost as if the twig was CG just to cover that up.

So you saw a twig falling, the other dude saw a twig hanging. But then you say Shia moved the twig... That's a lot of invisible twigs.

And it's weird that Shia would move these twigs, only to shift back and turn away from where they were.

Why would Shia be giving signals? Who's he giving the signal to? Aren't most signals given from behind the camera?

I have the blue-ray so my entire screen is filled and I can see all the detail, but I did not see that twig until it was just pointed out.

The signal should be off camera yes, but if he needs to be looking in a certain direction initially then it won't be near the camera.

I don't know guys, it just seems like he was daydreaming for a second there. From the point he was staring at Optimus he should have immediately turned around to check for Megatron, but he didn't. It's throwing the whole shot off. If it's just a twig issue then whatever, but they should have re-shot that scene in the first place.
