Interesting. I'm now thinking that Wreckage could actually be in the movie now. It wouldn't surprise me one bit, as he was originally meant to appear in the first movie. I'm planning on getting his repaint either way, though having him appear on screen would make the toy at least a little more enjoyable, imo. I also think it would be nice to see his design on the big screen.

I still think he's going to continue being a comic-only character.
Probably the most important of the comic-only movie characters, but still a comic-only character.
And he probably has the new paint job so it'll help sell the new ROTF redeco.

Although I have yet to read the latest issue.

seeing as how Hasbro don't tend to do comic only characters as toys, and that the repaint and comic designs match - here's hoping for an appearance in the film! :D

I see it as just Hasbro reusing a mold from the first film, and the comic character changing to match it.

He won't be in the movie. Starscream kills him. He just randomly scans a green APC, fights Starscream, and gets terminated.

He puts up a good fight, though. Starscream nearly got offlined himself.

The upcoming Drift would like a word.

Plus, they do plenty of toys of characters who haven't appeared in any media at all. (A lot of those end up appearing in comics after the fact.)

This was definitely my favorite character from the first movie, it would be cool if he were in it.

Uh... are the comic and movie writers working together on continuity? If they aren't then it's kind of silly to assume a comic character would make it into the movie.

Hasbro hasn't said anything about Drift getting a toy, only the writer for AHM has said it.

Well, since the IDW team announced it at BotCon, and it was reiterated in a (IIRC) Newsarama interview, I thought it seemed fairly reliable.

No, they aren't. The comic writers have access to the movie script, and since they have to follow both that AND go through Hasbro their story will probably line up fairly well with the movieverse.

Roberto Orci seems fairly unawares of what the comics are doing, anyway.
