Well, at least G1 Wheelie is finally getting respect.  



If I could also give my 2 cents; No offense to you people out there who hate these movie designs because "they don't look like the G1 character," but I think that sort of argument is kind of silly. It's like trying to compare G1 Sideswipe to Armada Sideswipe and thinking they're supposed to be the same character. We've had this sort of reuse of names before, and I don't think I've heard arguments over it until this movie - not that I go looking for such arguments to begin with. Apologies if I don't know about said arguments.

That's just my thought, though. I'm sure some of you make this argument because you're a fan of the character, but when Wheelie becomes part of the argument... things get confusing. It makes me think this argument is just being started for the sake of hating something other people hate, rather than personal opinion.

I'm not looking to start an argument here with what I've just said, so I think I'll stop here. Please carry on.

 

Why does Wheelie look like Wall-E?

 

I think Seth Buzzard (or someone else) on WTF@TFW said it best; This robot design is common. You can see it on Wall-E, Johnny Five, and so on... It's a robot, basically.

I thought the deluxe box scans a few weeks ago confirmed this already...?

 

It went from being a small figure Im not going to buy to being a big figure Im not going to buy.

 

Wow. That size turns me off from the toy even more!   If he was itty bitty and cute I'd go for it, but that just looks stupid.

 

I guess he is one of those very tall deluxes like TFA Blurr & Lockdown I never thought he was a scout I new he was a deluxe.

 

Several fans insisted it was a scout only because he was packaged in robot mode.

 

Let's paint it gray and orange and call it Omega Supreme !

 

Given his height now, the Bugger's definitely tall enough to start looking for his half brother Wall-EEEEeeeeeee!

He deffinately is cool in that he explodes into giantness. Will have to see him in the movie first, though. (he looked okay in the showest thing)

 

My thoughts exactly. I had guessed that if one transformer wasn't going to be in scale with the rest (not like the rest are in-scale  ), it would be Wheelie.

I believe it because he is basically and wimp and easily intimidated. So if a Autobot threatens or intimidates him he will be an autobot and the same if a decepticon threatens him. I think it was on the back of his card in his bio.

 

TF's have had scale issues forever. Yet, Wheelie here manages to ignite a bunch of anger about scale issues?

...not really shocking I suppose.

Perhaps the could have made a Legends figure of him. He is probably a pretty significant part of the film if they went ahead and made a Deluxe figure.
