If you keep pushing the chest around on it's transformation joint you get to a point where the tail fins are oriented as they are in jet mode (and can't fold up to sit against his back), at which point the molded detail piece in the chest will have been pressed forwards some to fill the gap a bit.

I'm with Ratbat (which is perfect as this looks like a robotic Dracula, hence Mindwipe's bat mode)
    or Soundwave ...

I was getting a Jetfire vibe -or Stormjet

    Here are some ideas:

    Cybertron Soundwave:

    Sky Jack
    [IMG]

    Air Raid
    [IMG]

    Ratbat / Noise Maze
    [IMG]

Dread Wing (perfect because of the combination thing)

    Nightbird

Am I the only one who sees some resemblance of that famous fan made design of Jetfire that we kept on seeing?

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about.

They even have the same alt mode.

They could have him as a younger RoTF Jetfire called Skyslashing Jetfire.
We could also have a new and improved Energon Wing Saber toy wit this mold including remolded head.

Another suggestion would be homaging any of the G2 Cyberjets.

Ooh, that helps a lot! Took me a minute to figure out what you meant. I guess his tailfins, then, are meant to stand up straight, rather than just sitting flat against his back?

That's how I do it, as it seems to be the most natural positioning for everything.
I've also noticed in most pics that people seem to leave the red panel behind his head sticking straight up instead of folding it down flat where it sits flush with the backpack. His head gets a broader range of motion when the panel is folded down.

You know what I'd totally buy? After seeing all these rad photos? A mindwipe repaint as Soundwave and Skystalker as Ratbat.

    That'd be rad.

I'm just messing around with my Mindwipe and Skystalker and found that there is a rather interesting little twist here, don't know if it's coincidence or not.

It's too late to get my camera crap together for some pics, but I'll describe it the best I can.

You can perch Skystalker looking rather bat-like on the back of Mindwipe. First you have fold up Skystalkers feet and pull the upper thighs back and the legs up so they knees are almost in his arm pits. Position the arms as you'd like and keep the wings spread out. By keeping the axes held in Skystalkers wings, the grooves fit perfectly into the orange pieces that slide out of Mindewipe's wings and keep him steady.

Now there's no solid connection, but this allows him to remain very steadily perched on the back of Mindwipe and looks kinda cool. Not hard to imagine that that's the intention for the grooves in the axes being the way they are.

If no insomniacs beat me to it then I'll post a few pics tomorrow.

Someone on HK-TF found what i think appears to be the designers intention of a robot mode combination! It's a bit fiddly cause of Skystalker's limbs, but pretty solid when all done!

It's a little tough to get them together that way; you have to push and wiggle Skystalker's torso fairly deep into Mindwipe's torso. Also, the final combination looks funky from some angles; Mindwipe is basically doing a pelvic thrust and loooking down. Still, it looks really cool from the front and back. I wish the designers had trimmed the plastic on both figures to make this combination work better (and more officially).

Hmmm...might not be a difficult mod, actually...

Its like adding extra awesome to awesome, it can only be more awesome.
Would love to have the designers come out and say something about it!

Deserves a front page I think

The way the head is angled in that picture makes it look like Skystalker's. That is awesome.

I always felt like there was more to it with combining these 2.

This is kinda neat as well, though not as badass as the other one. Skystalker is perched like Mindewipe's loyal and faithful minion.
