That's the toy I was referring to and I like the colors quite well. Very knightly black and silver make up for the dark copper pants.

Actually, Banzai-Tron would be a much better repaint. Just give him a new head and we have a new mass-market Banzai-Tron toy!

Now that I look at Bludgeon and then Banzai-Tron, I notice many similar details in the same places. I wouldn't be surprised if the designers had this in mind when creating the toy. That seems to be the trend with Classics/Universe 2.0 figures, they share similar details between 2 different characters to have repaints make more sense physically, and only require new colors and a new head(if needed) to further make a more convincing homage of the repainted character in question.

A neat idea, and I wouldn't be entirely surprised, but the Botcon fig will always be Banzaitron on my shelf.

Looks awesome, though his face still seems a bit wonky to me.

Damn right it will be(that repaint is SICK!), but there needs to be a Banzai-Tron that can be on EVERYONE'S shelf, and a limited convention exclusive figure that goes for $80+ isn't gong to cut it.

    A mass-market Banzai-Tron is needed.

If we can get such a repaint homage as Action Master Rad from a Cybertron Crosswise(yeah I know, it was also meant to be a Gen.1 Smokescreen homage), then Banzai-Tron shouldn't be a problem.

Good call, I could see them going in that direction for a repaint.

    Bludgeon looks great.

All of a sudden I really like Bludgeon now!

    Possible repaints:
    Nightbird
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Nightbird.jpg

    Warpath
    http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/File:Warpathg1.jpg (think animated)

    Master Yokitron
    http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/File:Yoketron_five_servo.jpg

    Banzaitron
    http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/transformers/images/a/ae/Banzai-tron.jpg

    Skullgrin
    http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/transformers/images/0/0a/G1Skullgrin_toy.jpg

Voyager repaints normally go opposite faction....but the Cyclonus argument could fly here...

Y'know, looking at how the offical transformation has the stubby tank barrel sticking upwards has made me think that when I get mine, I wanna try making something like one of these for Bludgeon (but with a Decepticon Symbol on it, obviously):
Simply make the pole be able to stick into the barrel like the sword would for Alt. mode, making Bludgeon even more like a true Samurai!

I also dug this image up, looks very similar to what we're getting with ROTF Bludgeon: Bludgeon stormbringer image by DonFig on Photobucket
