im lovin it all except for the face im pretty let down by that *shrug* wont stop me from gettin him tho i guess
to all critisizing the boxy, non movie look: you know, there have been transformers series before the movie. in any case, great! that means this guy should be easy to find because you won't be buying him
QFT. Fits the "Samurai" aesthetic better, and gives him a scabbard he can actually USE in robot mode, rather than reaching for the top of his turret.
my only crit is the eyes clearly his eyes are far smaller since you can see them moulded in behind the red plastic but because the eyes and the surrounding plastic are the same colour they end up blending in
Wow, if this is as good in person as it looks in pics, it'll be one of my all-time favorite TFs. There's nothing I don't like about this Bludgeon! I think the headsculpt is cool, the robot mode design is awesome, tank mode is great, and the giant katana/wakizashi, complete with scabbard, is wicked. It's gonna be tough waiting for this to be in stores...
Hey, not to ruin your gushing over him, but could I get a response? even a "Sorry, can't help you, didn't get to play with him long enough." would be appreciated, i'd wait for a review (Vange1us, Peaugh?) then.
Kinda underwhelming imo. No wrist articulation, no visible neck (his head just looks kinda squashed into his chest), and a very non-intimidating face sculpt. His weapons look cheap and prone to bending, and there's no way to make use of his tank turret in robot mode (an over-the-shoulder cannon would've been nice.) Pass.
These pictures definitely make the head sculpt look better, although I'm still going to need some time to get used to it. Going to be interesting to see why the backpack needs to split like that. Looking forward to this one.
Its a buy for me but I'm a little worried how I'll feel about it in hand. It looks really good except for the "I have no neck" syndrome but it also looks very cluttered like it may suffer from kibble hampering or fiddlyness. I love the homage to bludgeon but I'm not exactly sure I think he fits into the movie line. Will just have to see how he looks up there on the shelf with the rest.
I don't know why people are complaining about a lack of a neck; the image on the back of his packaging show that his head can be raised up a bit more. Not much, but it's still enough to not make him look like a neckless roid-rager. I know the images on the boxes are Photoshopped to be hell, but even even then, I doubt that they Photoshopped in a neck for him.
Nobody on this board has him yet. The pictures were sent to S250 showing him what he would be getting (I assume). S250 said that he should be getting it today and would answer some questions about it once he gets a chance to mess around with it.
Hmm, intrigued to see more photos of this one - especially to get an idea of whether he's mistransformed in any way, what the articulation and posing is like, and just how much alt mode there is hanging off his back. Looking forward to S250's pics, will reserve judgment for now.
Bludgeon, thou art super-cool awesome sexy. I really do look forward to this guy. His design seems to be only-just moviverse enough to fit into the designs of the rest of the line and is a fantastic homage. A lot of time looking at the old comics and the more recent IDW seems to have been spent during the design phase.
