I wanted to make ROTF Thrust fit in more with the Classics line (he is my stand-in Classics Thrust). So, I looked for ways to make him more proportional.

I took apart the front part of the fuselage the way you would to do the Breakaway neck mod. I removed the head along with the neck part. I shaved away the back of Thrust's head, allowing for the head to look upwards. Then I shaved the pivot point of the canopy so it can accommodate Thrust's neck.

It doesn't close all the way, but I think it was lack of planning and sloppy cutting/shaving that caused this.

What do you think? Is this something other's have done, I'd like to see it executed a bit better than what I did

I like how having the cockpit glass slanted back behind the head kind of resembles the G1 conehead design. Neat.

Very nice. On my Breakaway, I just freed up the front glass canopy and glued it to the back canopy so that the whole thing lifts up.

It looks like you could fix your clearance problem by simply grinding out some of the bottom surface of the cockpit interior.

The first thing I thought after I did this was that it looked like Armada Thrust!

I'll look into this, I think that the part that is blocking the head from going down all the way is the landing gear shaft. I don't know if I can shave that without breaking it. It's also the fact that Thrust's "neck" is too short.

    Wow, multi-quote is great!

It was weird, I went back to edit my message so the attachments would show up in the post, but then after I submit, the attachments disappeared... I guess it fixed itself.

    Thanks!

Very cool! I just bought a Breakaway, and I'm trying to think og a way to convert it into a Ramjet! I think I can do your mod and attach the rubber nose cone and front of the canopy to the head somehow. And when deluxe Dirge comes out, I'll have my updated Classics Conehead Seekers! Sorry Classics Ramjet, you're going into storage and I may have to rip your face off for the mod!

I tried to search for it, but couldn't find it. Anyone have a link? I'd really like to see this done well, I'll actually buy anther Thrust and do this right. I really like this mold!

I never actually made a thread for mine cause there were some already done.

Here is a shot with the longer neck(moved ball) and 1pc cockpit.

Allows for full 360 head movement and up and down

This mod makes the mold look TONS better. I loved everything about the original mold except how the head sits at shoulder height. I'll have to try this one myself.

Personally I think if you want him to be more classic, Remove the toes! I never saw the point in them and I think they take away from his overall awesomeness.
