Almost finished the build on this one yesterday, I still have to fill some holes and connections with apoxie and then I'll let it wait for the weather to be dry enough to paint him.

He retains every articulations the original Leader had but the weight and some parts reduce the range just a few. The guns can be placed in either hand/on either arm, the blades are removable, the reactors can rotate and act as shoulder cannons like in the movie and almost every added parts can be removed (held by magnets) or moved (on balljoints or pins) in order to 1. make him more accurate to the movie where the parts move in some occasions like when he's flying. 2. make the painting process easier. 3. not interfere too much with articulations/poseability.

    c&c welcome :)

I see parts from voyager class Megatron, and those engines look like they're from Anakin's pod racer, but I'd love to know where you cannibalized the rest of the parts from. Regardless, that's some fantastic work, I'm duly impressed!

Thanks a lot for the nice words everyone :)

I can't really say anything about the "inside parts" since the guns were the almost the last parts I build, I used a lot of already disassembled parts from the previously cannibalized figures and stuff without really asking myself about the source. But from what I can recognize from the outside, there's part from:

    • Leader Jetfire's big gun, gatling gun and various panels
    • Anakin Pod Racer "toy" (the fully assembled thing that's bigger than the model kit)
    • Anakin Pod Racer model kit (which I bought by mistake thinking the reactors would be matching Prime's scale, it was still usefull fortunately :) )
    • Voyager Mixmaster's gun
    • MP Starscream's thruster and thruster cover
    • Movie Salvage arm guns
    • High Grade Gundam kit parts
    • Primus's shoulder cannon tip
    • A random tank model ki
    • Styrene cylinder and sheet

If there's anything else inside the guns, it can be found in the following list.

    Here's the full list:

    • 2 High Grade Gundam model kits
    • A random Neoshifter figure
    • A random tank model kit
    • A SR-71 model kit
    • Anakin Pod Racer model kit
    • Anakin Pod Racer toy
    • Armada Supreme Unicron
    • Cybertron Supreme Primus
    • G1 WM MP Starscream
    • Movie Deluxe Dreadwing
    • Movie Deluxe Salvage
    • Movie Leader Prime
    • RiD Leader Ultra Magnus
    • ROTF Leader Prime (body from a Buster, head from a regular release)
    • ROTF Leader Jetfire
    • ROTF Legends Starscream
    • ROTF Voyager Megatron
    • ROTF Voyager Mixmaster

..and magnets, pins, screws, styrene, etc. the usual stuff!

That's a lot of stuff but most cannibalized figures came from previous custom works, I think the only things I had to buy especially for this were the Buster Prime, Jetfire, the tank, the SR-71 and the Star Wars stuff (everything was used except for Jetfire so it wasn't that expensive :) ).

    Thanks again :)

Sure I will (except for the red & blue with flames: I didn't find a solution to pinstripe precisely enough to my taste, that's why I used a Buster body, to not have to paint the pinstripe myself :p ), as soon as the weather let me. To be honest, I'm focusing building a few customs atm and will paint all of them at the same time once the weather will be dry, probably when spring'll start.

That looks like an awesome build - it properly captures the bulky look of Power up Prime in a way some other customs don't. The fact that you've made the parts removable is the icing on the cake. :thumb

Can't wait to see it painted!

    Thanks again everyone!

If the final painted version is even half as good as your usual repaint, I would be VERY satisfied. ;)
