Here's a first glimpse W.I.P. pictures of ROTF Starscream leader class with a few minor modifications and additional add-ons. With the World Cup 2010 fever and a hell-of-a-trip in Cybertron (refer to me playing WFC for days since I got my hands on it), but I somehow manage to put down the controller and start working on this precious as he's been staring at me from the corner of my workshop for weeks while I'm enjoying the scenes and landscapes of Cybertron. HAHA! To view more images of this figure, check out our site or our web gallery. Features and Details: Custom modified head with ball joint to improve the articulation and playability. Custom modified head to allow it's mouth piece to open without the need to pull the cockpit canopy base. Custom modified articulate-able hand/wrist-joint and fingers. Custom modified groin area to allow this figure to pose appropriately. Additional attachable custom modified engine/booster. STAY TUNED!!!
Love the mods, but personally I think the neck part seems a bit off. The original mold is ok imo and giving it a ball joint is a good idea but it makes it look as though it has a longer neck now which the movie SS seems to have a very short one. But apart from that, I love the other mods. Especially the articulated fingers! Can't wait to see it in full color!
Are the Jet Engines on his back made from TF07 Voyager Screamer's "hands"?? That's awesome... and superbly appropriate!
That's suhweeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttt!!!! I can't wait to be able to start bashin again. I've got some ideas of my own for this figure.
Nice work so far, but I agree with others on the neck modification. It makes the head sit a bit too high on his shoulders.
Thank you for the comment. Yes I do agree about the neck as I couldn't get the right ball-joint at the time, but it's complete and perfect now! That's right bro! And it's just fit perfectly as the actual engine of Starscream as seen on-screen do have some sort of fins or spikes. Yeap. Bumblebee dissected! Yeap! It'll be awesome! Thanks Moy, stay tune! The jet mode seems perfect to me, but if by making the jet mode less bulky which you have to cut off most of the important parts of the figure, and it certainly won't be able to transform into robot mode. Hey there Zildjian! Yeap, it's a little high because I could get the exact ball-joint that I want at that time. But now it's perfect and complete! thanks bro! stay tune!
Just in case you guys were wondering what I did about the "groin" section, it's actually more to it's waist. As shown in the picture below, I shaved off some of the parts behind the groin-panels in order to allow Starscream's upper body to bend forward.
Updates: A clearer picture to indicate the groin/ waist modification. As well as a picture of the alternate mode before the cybertronian glyphs stage were applied. And now it resembles the 2007 TFTM Starscream!
There's some nice mode there mate, can't wait to see it finished. I'm doing one of these and am trying to do the fade the darker camo into the grey like your pic above. Is it possible to do this without an airbrush? I might have to steal your engine mods too. hakka.
HOLY CRAP!! Dude you got skillz!! How much would it cost to have you paint mine up like what you're doing??
Thanks bro! It's very possible, but it won't turn out as smooth as airbrush. For the engine mods, by all means please do! Thanks! haha! You know where to inquire me.
WISH I had your modding skills Mechafacture! I know this custom of yours is going to ROCK cause of the excellent quality of your work and then one of your AMAZING paint jobs? Someone is going to be in heaven if you sell this!
Thanks Zac! Actually it's already complete and sold a few days ago. I'm just got tangled with some other customs, but I'll be posting up all the pix soon!
