After Ravage I couldn't help but work on Soundwave. No major mods this time around as they really weren't necessary. I decided to go with a darker pewter color to keep the sort of low vis/space concept and not make it the same old boring silver. Paints used are a mix of Testors Model Masters and Createx airbrush paints.

    C&C welcome.

I also made the stand out of some random parts left in my kibble bin. Works out surprisingly well IMO.

I like this a lot. I like how the blue is still there, but it has a nice washed-out spacey look.

And the stand is pure win.

    Thanks guys!

I'm actually surprised at how well this one turned out. If I have this much luck with my next few projects I might actually work up enough courage to tear into my Prime....

Glad you guys like the stand. Not bad for something cobbled together from parts of an old Monogram model kit, Armada superpants prime, and an old record player. lol. (and the faction logo from Ransacks package).

Yeah i am diggin the base for Soundwave. That is F***n snappy, I have been using one of those gundam model kit bases.
I like your take on Soundwave too. Nice paint job. Pewter was a great choice! He looks nice and evil now.
Though in my opinion I think he needs a splash of color.

Its a shame all they came up with for Soundwave was some damned satellite, that is a "triple changer". I would have thought that would be Shockwaves job.

    Thanks guys!

I wish I could have come up with something a little more elegant to mount soundwave than the huge claw thing I ended up with, but it's incredibly secure.

Anywho... Thought I would post this up. Semi-bad photoshop job, but I like it. I might try reshooting it with a higher F-stop to remove the DOF.

    Thx!

I can see adding more bright colors to him. I think my next custom job will use the darker metalics like I did on soundwave, and nice bright colors for the accents and altmode to see how the two tones work together.

That's purdy! The base works perfectly, and I love the pewter tone instead of the more frequently used silver! Great job!:thumbs2:

Personally, I feel the darks work for this figure. Accenting with bright colors will just make it into All-Spark Powered Soundwave.
The colors you used almost gives it the Hasbro promo shot quality, which is pretty cool in itself.
    Well done!

I still dislike the mold, but your paintjob is superb, it makes SW look SO much better!
