    ROTF SoundWave W.I.P. (Update)

Soooo Just really wanted to share this picture with everyone as I just pulled him out of my curing area(a heated place in my garage that bakes them pretty much). I love the look of a fresh primed figure and Movie Soundwave has to be my fav, there is just so much detail on him that I have been sitting here for at least an hour just looking at him, no area was left alone on him, even the inside of his chest which isn't really visible is full of mechanical goodness just waiting for some love. I know there are two of these guys customized now but I just thought Radicon would love to see this picture too. Enjoy.

He might also be the first custom that I submit to the galleries as I see my self taking pictures of everything. :D

Started some shading, picture taken in natural light.

We all know I'm no fan of the movie toys.
But I must admit, I do look forward to seeing what my fellow Radicons do with them.
This is no exception. The final product should be outstanding.

Um.... that's just primer. Black primer to be exact LOL. I'll post a picture when I have the first run of silver on him.

Hey tony ! its a great effort to put up the pics.

One question, do you take it apart before you paint it or just going to do it like that ?
I'm sure its going to turn out great like you always do with the figures.

I love the look of a freshly primed figure too! It's like when you see a prototype figure it looks awesome but in colors it's shit... Though that will never happen with your customs.

I have a question for you too, what do you do to keep the paint from rubbing off in areas that have tight joints? I have recently started to airbrush and I seal my paint with a layer or two of future (the floor polish) Have that cure for 2 days (but not baked like you do.) and then I try to carefully handle the figure. Though I keep scraping off the paint :(

    any tips?

LOL Yep! I should have mentioned the flash was on on my camera.
Thanks Bro, I am going to try and keep up the updates, he is a beautiful figure that deserves the attention. I almost always keep my figures together when working on them, he is one of them but I do have some ones coming up that I am taking apart, I will specify in the thread for them when they are done(Might do a nifty WIP thread for them to as they are my favorite characters).

Thanks bro, I knew I wasn't alone on loving that look. All I can really say is prep, prep, prep. What I usually do is paint a light color(usually white) on any areas of the figure that I know are going to rub and transform it a few times, any where there are scrapes I use an xacto or sanding implement and the paint it again and repeat. Takes a while I admit but the result will be a real transformable custom(Looks at Redline for being a wimp.;)  ) As for the future sealing, your not waiting long enough, 5 days is a sweet spot for me in a warm climate(or heating it up which can be just a hairdryer on low heat while you watch TV or something). Hope any of this helps.
