One of my art professors in college told our class of how he would go to Big Lots! and buy the "hand painted" ceramic mugs, buy some, go home, hand paint them himself, and take them back to Big Lots! for a refund just so customers could actually get some professionally done ceramic mugs. I've always been amused by this idea.

If I saw your SW on the shelf, I'd know and buy it on the spot! :D  I'd be able to buy some snacks with the same purchase too. That'd be a shopping cart full of nothing but pure WIN.

What paints are these? They look beautiful. I've seen the same effect on e.g. Sabrina Ng's customs.

The only hobbystore I know only has Revell, Humbrol and Tamiya....I wish they had more stuff...

Enamel Tamiya chrome silver for the base as it is very smooth. The acrylic version has many unwanted specks of silver bits. Not nice at all.

Ah, okay. The blue is Tamiya Clear Blue?

and with the Acrylic version, you mean the X11? I'm not getting that one again. Brush stroke City. I prefer Enamel in the future >_>

Just curious. How did you thin the paints. With their own Tamiya thinner or mineral spirits/industrial thinner/etc?

I use their tamiya enamel thinner. It's different from the industrial thinners whch mostly tackles acrylics...
