MTV Movies Blog ‘Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen’ Soundtrack Coming On June 23

A handy press release came across my desk late yesterday informing me that Reprise Records will drop the “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” soundtrack on June 23, one day before the release of the highly anticipated Michael Bay-helmed sequel. Since it simply wouldn’t be a giant robot movie without effects-laden electric gee-tars and pounding drums, the predominantly hard rock track list isn’t terribly surprising. Linkin Park, Green Day, Staind, Avenged Sevenfold and Cheap Trick are just a few of the featured artists.

After the jump you’ll find the full track listing for the soundtrack. Make sure you tune in to the 2009 MTV Movie Awards this Sunday at 9pm EST to catch an exclusive new clip from “Revenge of the Fallen.” And there’s still time to vote, so get to it if you haven’t already!

The track listing for :Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: The Album” is as follows:

    1. Linkin Park — “New Divide”
    2. Green Day — “21 Guns”
    3. Cavo — “Let It Go”
    4. Taking Back Sunday — “Capital M-E”
    5. The Fray — “Never Say Never”
    6. Nickelback — “Burn It To The Ground”
    7. The Used — “Burning Down The House”
    8. Theory Of A Deadman — “Not Meant To Be”
    9. The All-American Rejects — “Real World”
    10. Hoobastank — “Don’t Think I Love You”
    11. Staind — “This Is It”
    12. Avenged Sevenfold — “Almost Easy”
    13. Cheap Trick — “Transformers™ The Fallen Remix”

Transformers 2 Soundtrack & Score Coming June 23 - Superhero Hype!

Reprise Records has officially announced that the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen soundtrack and score will be available on June 23:

Reprise Records will release the soundtrack to the hotly anticipated feature film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on June 23rd the day before the film, the sequel to the 2007 Oscar-nominated summer blockbuster Transformers, hits theaters nationwide.

The film's director and executive producer Michael Bay asked Warner Bros. Records' multiplatinum rock band Linkin Park to provide the sonic backdrop to the live-action robot fantasy film. Not only did the band write and record the film's theme song, entitled "New Divide," specifically for the soundtrack, they were also asked by Bay, Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer, and award-winning composer Steve Jablonsky to contribute to the score. "New Divide" is currently available for purchase on iTunes.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: The Album also features music from Green Day (who contribute "21 Guns" a song from their new album 21st Century Breakdown), Taking Back Sunday, The Used, The All-American Rejects, Cavo, The Fray, Staind, Nickelback, Cheap Trick and more.

In addition to the original soundtrack, Reprise will be releasing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: The Score, which will also be released on June 23rd.

Opening in theaters on June 24, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, starring Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro, will be Linkin Park's second project with Bay. The first Transformers film featured the bands smash hit single "What I've Done," which rocketed to No. 1 on both Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks and Hot Modern Rock Tracks charts. The double-platinum-selling track was one of five top ten hit singles that appeared on the groups most recent album, Minutes To Midnight, which sold more than six million copies.

In Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, debuting June 24, 2009, Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) again joins with the Autobots against their sworn enemies, the Decepticons. So wait... the only decent song and group that was supposedly on here, Mastodon, isn't?

Well then this whole thing is useless and complete and utter emo bullshit.

Hey Bay, just because the movie is dark doesn't mean it needs to be accompanied by a bunch of whiny emo dick's who couldn't sing their way out of an outhouse!

Nice list of songs, I belive I'll pick one up. I still think Breakdown by Seether would've worked nicley with the movie, but that's just me. :)

I already have most all of those songs. I know I have all but one so this will most likely be a pass for me. As for these being a bunch of EMO groups, They are not EMO. These are rock/ alternative groups and are nothing close to true crappy EMO.

Green Day? Really? :mad  Well, thank god I never buy movie soundtracks and Green Day alone makes me not want to buy this. I was REALLY hoping "Empty Walls" by Serj Tankien would have been used in the score; it's a fucking AWESOME song and lyrically, it's about war which quite obviously suits the theme of Autobots vs. Decepticons. And that new Linkin Park song is ferociously terrible...I'm sick and tired of the fact that my local radio station plays it atleast ten times a day. "What I've Done" it is not!

Hope that Green Day track plays for a short time over a non important piece of the film, cause there's no way I'm gonna listen to those sell out sacks of shit. Better yet hope there right at the end of the credits, most deserving place for em

Still lame, and now with an extra dose of lame, as it looks like Mastadon has been booted from the soundtrack.

At least Cheap Trick is on there, though the word "remix" in the song title gives me worry. I hope that Trick doesn't go with some modern bullcrap studio trickery to try and sound like all the emo/nu-metal crap that fills up the rest of that turd CD.

I just hope most of this is not actually in the movie. The modern rock songs in the first movie were just really wedged into the scenes, and never really fit, while the score was pretty much perfect.

Oh well, I suppose with the :bay  AWESOME of Bay, you have to take his goofy musical tastes.
