I was just at a noon showing. We and about 15 other people were the only ones in the theater. I understand most people work and have school, etc...but opening day of Spiderman 2 I saw at the same time and there was a line. Same with LOTR pt. 3....

I donno, even all the overdone computer animation probably can't keep the momentum going when word gets out how full of suck the story and plot are.

If you excuse me, I'm going up to DC so I can visit the Air and Space Museum and then walk next door to Arizona afterward.

The movie will make big money this weekend, drop off during next week and rebound again for July 4th weekend, and after that it will take a nosedive.

Still, having said that, there's a very good possibility that it'll be at the $250-275 million mark when the July 4th weekend is over.

I hope TFs can put together another $700 million hit or better. Promising news thus far, really am looking forward to going again before Ice Age hits theaters.

Eh, I'm a little doubtful about that. TDK had all sorts of things going for it (viral marketing, Heath Ledger's death, etc.). Still, ROTF will make plenty of mad money, especially with the kids!

Why am I not surprised? :3 Well, if it's off to a nice start at least... Hm... I haven't seen it yet (I'll be seeing it first thing this Saturday), so I can't really put much say into this. But so far, this looks promising.

    not bad i guess.
Three months from now the overseas box office probably contribute more to the grand total though, just a thought

I went to the 9 am Imax showing today and it was packed. There was already a huge line for the noon show.

The midnight showing I was at last night was pretty packed. Not sold out by any means, but close to it. I bought my tickets a half hour before showtime and had no problem getting a good seat.

I'm not surprised. My town has 20,000 people in it and last night the theatedr was packed for the 12:01 showing. Three screens, Packed!

Oh, and the Movie ruled. Everyone in the theater laughed and applauded.
