Heres the Revenge of the Fallen Ratchet with a load of comparisons
Wow, they managed to release the same mold, but with an awful paint scheme. Good one.
That's actually not that bad looking... Better than the original for sure.
(It's not transformed correctly, front windows should fold outward and end up behind his back).
EDIT: Just noticed the lack of paint in many areas. -- Not cool.
ya i thought the windows were supposed to fold around but that was how the toy looked in TFW resources so I did it that way, atleast how the G1 Repaint looked to be transformed.... shitty repaint anyway, or should be call it a shittly lack or paint.... so shitty transformation is fitting
the pics are to see a comparison with the original which I think is accomplished anyway. I took these photos late at night a couple nights ago too.... so really wasnt in the mood to care too much...
Ratchet was one of the least-painted toys in the original movie line. Now that the cost of his development has been paid for by two previous repaints, Hasbro still can't afford to give him decent paint? In fact, he has LESS paint? What the hell, Hasbro? I mean, what the hell?
Then we can all safely ignore this then. I hope the second Voyager Ratchet in Voyager wave 3? is a new mold or something. I think it would be a bit much even for Hasbro to redeco this mold twice. Again.
That's sad... The comparison photos prove that the first version of movie Ratchet has a vastly superior paint deco.
I wonder if he would look better in some outdoor shots in the sand. He IS Desert Tracker Ratchet after all.
Wow, this is a really bad repaint. The grey just doesn't work with that green, the grey on the face looks odd, the random fading pattern on the doors is weird and it's missing a number of paint applications that were present on the original. Easy pass on this one.
I think I will buy him again!
My Ratchet from the first movie I sold....
Wow... that's... just bad. I mean, how do they release a repaint with less paint apps than the original? Seriously Hasbro... way to drop the ball on that one. I'll be avoiding this one for sure.
I should point out the 2007 Ratchet used in the comparison here is Premium Ratchet, which is why it has a metallic yellow paint job.
He'll be a shelfwarmer again, so you might as well wait and see what the Voyager and Deluxe Ratchets that have appeared on Walmart's computers will be.
...y'know, I'm looking and looking at this, and I quite literally can't understand what Hasbro were thinking with this toy. I can vaguely understand that there's supposed to be some kind of desert theme, so he's meant to look slightly sun-faded, but I can't see how the grey is supposed to achieve that effect, or indeed any effect other than looking mismatched. And don't get me started on the unpainted green lights...all told, this is really unimpressive. Thank goodness for my 2007 Premium Ratchet...
We're on the same boat, sold my old TFTM Ratchet and I have no choice but to get this version. Well he isn't as bad as I thought he was gonna turn out, and the box art IS nice so... do want
I think in some ways we can look at this as a sign that Hasbro lost interest in the characters toy, since theirs a good chance his role doesn't really expand much in the sequel, and their are just more, interesting(would say better but i personally liked him) characters in this new film that Hasbro know will sell more toys.
I doubt this means he gets killed in this film, but rather looking at in another way, he played a somewhat important role in the first film, and got a lot of different toys as a result, now theirs new characters that play much larger roles in the sequel so Ratchets had his fun in the sun and it these characters turn. Hasbro probably gave him a toy anyway because I'm sure no toy would of been a lot worse than this.
There's two unknown movie Ratchet figures listed in Walmart computers, a Voyager and a Deluxe. I'd say he'll get a new mold later in the line.
Deluxe Ratchet will probably be just a transforming ratchet.
That looks positively awful, WTF Hasbro?!?
Wow, they even painted over the lightbar on the rack. Glad I have the original one.
I like the grey. I think it blends better than the black. I will buy him, becuase I never got the original.
Sense Ironhide has been confirmed for a human alliance mold, it would be nice to see ratchet get a new mold too....
Wait... was he gray or black in the movie?
