Nothing major, just an extended touch up of the figure after getting some Gold and Red paint to finish him off (old one found here) Once again, I would like to thank the factory work for this unfinished paint job because it gave me alot of fun pimping him up into a near accurate paint job Now onto the figure itself, starting from top and finishing at the bottom, enjoy *Since some touch ups are hard to notice, I have marked them with silly red circles for easier viewing Head Shoulder/Arm/Hands *Fitted a screw (accidentally) into the holes and painted over it with Tamiya Chrome Silver **Gears/Springs have been painted in Tamiya Titanium Gold *Inner arm and squares were painted in the same silver and the blue piece was painted with Tamiya Blue to give it a much brighter look other than the dark previous *Hands painted with the same silver, pins and between fingers were painted with the same gold color Lower body *Crotch pieces were painted gold, upper thigh and pin were completed in the silver *Painted leg extensions with Tamiya Red and painted the red plastic at the tip of the feet with Taimya Sky Grey *Gears painted with gold Back side *Gears/Springs painted with gold *Back of the forearm painted with silver to give it a more "realistic look *Not much, but these were painted with silver too Swords *Swords have been repainted by removing the previous Sky Grey and replacing it with a more accurate design with Chrome Silver Figure Special effects gallery *Yes, the swords are burning, all the more easier to take faces =p With the light from the window shining epically onto Optimus, he can now strike awesomeness and awe into his enemies and assume command of the Autobots with as accurate as any paint job could get I am VERY VERY much happy with how he came out, true some parts are wrong, some are missing, some are too much, but all in all this figure looks FANTASTIC compared to how it used to look like before It took alot of effort, but it also compensated with alot of fun it offered while making it, and the en result is worth the effort Plus, it now saves me the trouble of getting Buster Prime ^_^ C&C are always welcome, please feel free to point out what I missed to do *Couldn't attach all the pics, sorry >_>
Personally, I think it looks great! excellent job... i'm just about done with leader prime repaints.. but you cant deny someone on a job well done!
Did you use Tamiya Blue for the chest windows also? I tried Tamiya's Metallic blue for the window frames on the chest and it's close, but not matching exactly as yours. Woo 1300th post!
wow...that's interesting .... why dont you just simply repaint it...those "touch up" are hardly noticeable.. here's a tutorial from jin saotome, check it out Basic Guide to Painting Transformers Figures
Yes, I used 2 coatings of Tamiya Blue since the first coating was being faded into the plastic around it, so I coated it with another layer Though I'm thankful for the link you provided, but what did you mean by hardly noticeable? If you mean picture wise, the light did mess up the display a bit on them
