I've noticed alot of people saying RoTF Leader Optimus Prime is hard to transform. But I've done it about 12 times now, and I've never gotten stuck.

So can you transform him? Or not?

 

I still get stumped sometimes on the part where I need to combine the arms and feet into the front half of the truck.

 

The very first time was a nightmare for me, he was my first Transformer since Beast Wars died out. Took at least an hour to figure out. I got it pretty much mastered now, took awhile to get the technique right on the arms/hood

 

Its hard when you first get him, but if you transform him frequently enough, then he's really not that bad. I think people really go overboard with how hard he is to transform.
Compare him to MP Megatron or ROTF Soundwave and then talk.

 

The first time was the hardest, but I did it without instructions. I can maybe do it in like 5-10 minutes now, but DotM Sentinel Prime is way harder.

He's not hard, and honestly there's not that much going on in his transformation. The only tricky part is getting his arms, chest panels, and the panels that make up the front of his truck lined up right. I don't have trouble with him.

SOUNDWAVE? You can't be serious.

 

I have never had problems with him, even the first time... and I didn't use the instructions...

 

mp megatron is the same as his g1 transformation, there's nothing hard about it, i find it's more the +$100 toy that looks fragile

rotf prime isn't as hard as he is fiddly

 

ROTF optimus prime isn't hard to transform to bot mode. I find it harder to snap him back into alt mode. I have buster so the chest piece is hard to slide in

Maybe the first time but once you get it right, you might just remember the transformation. It's not as frustrating as MP-05 Megatron which survived being transformed.

Now he's just fun as fuck to flip back and forth.

 

Agreed. Sentinel Prime sucks. Those panels never want to pop into place. They should have made a more decent latch for him.

it's his legs that mess me up. no matter what, there is always a foot poking out his tail end.

 

Managed to transform mine first time I tried, not hard at all. But I think the only bit most people would get frustrated on is getting the arms to join to the hood.

 

it's much smoother and easier than Rotf deluxe Skids and Mudflap for me now, but it was quite a struggle for the first couple of times.

 

Most BT's are harder to transform then ROTF leader Prime. First time might take a few minutes but it's not a headbreaker. I don't get the fuss.

 

hard? not really, frustrating? yes! because of it being another one of those damn panel formers, the ONE flaw with the movie toys is that they are mostly all panel formers, especially the cars! and you have to a line everything just right or it's all messed up.

while it's still a good toy, most of the movie toys are, they are just very frustrating
