Awesome! I like what you did here. It improves this mold so much more then the factory paint. Great work

Thanks much guys, bh, I'm sure yours is gonna come better than mine has so far. This is still a bit of a wip, I need to work on the vehicle mode next. I'm not sure if I want to spend the $50 for the stenciles frenzy_rumble is selling just yet. Only because I'm not that great at out lining the flames. I was talking to autobotx23 about some decals though, so I thing that's going to be the route I go with te project unless I can find a way to get perminant silver ink into a gundam detail pen. Cause I can do that, then the stenciles are on like donkey kong.

Sounds like a good plan of attack! Test those Gundam markers on a scrap first, I'm not sure they are fine tippd enough for accurate pinstripes! Passable for sure though. You gonna do the canisters and pipes in silver also?

I got the stencils from F-R.. You gotta be patient cause they are a pain in the butt. But the end justifies the means. Also, with stencils, not sure why I didn't do this, but just leave them on and outline masked part. That will help with them staying straight.

This does look better by far, but the "stomach" parts should be blue.

Are they?? I thought they were supposed to have a flame job on em.. Iunno, I might repaint 'em.. Also, how exactly do the stenciles stay in place? Do you use the 3M adjustable spray adheisive, or are they stickey on one side??

So, shameless bump, but my parts should be on their way in a couple days! WOOHOO!!! Also, I just checked some reference pics, and ecline you're correct sir that primes rib area should be blue. And so with that said, they shall be painted accourdingly. Any way, with this shameless bump, ecline you were saying that should have just left the stenciles and outlined them, what exactly were you refering to? Either way, I believe I'll be investing in some of f_r's stenciles, as you gave me a bit of an idear! Hopefully it works out.

    Cool, glad to help!!!

The stencils are a masking material. Sticky on one side. BUT.... YOU GOTTA BE EASY!!!! Because they are so tiny and the addhesive is strong, some parts may flop around and get stuck to each other. So as long as you are careful, it they are perfect!!

Awesome to know! Hmmm.. So if, and probably when I buy the stencils, do you think a silver wash would work for most of the outlines then??? I can't sem to find any kind of silver ink to swap in my gundam detail pen. I'm gonna go with decals on this one, and probably put it up on ebay after all the greats go away, lol. Don't even wanna try to compete with f_r or yours. Mines good, but you guys have amazing skills that I can only hope to mimic in ways. Anyway, any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Looking good. :)  The robot parts could use a black or smoke colored wash to help bring out the details though, and yeah the armor plates on the ribs should be in blue.

Oh man hank, I'm sorry I didn't respond to this sooner bud. If you're refering to the vehicle mode parts that are chrome, I'm trying to find out how much it will cost me to send the parts to the amazingly skilled bombatron for the task there. I was thinking of doin the killer chrome that the greats of the boards use, but if it turns out to be the same price to use bombatrons services, I'm goin that route because I know that its real chrome that way.. And if you aren't talking about those parts, then I'm not sure what you are speaking of..

But.... They already had a wash :( .... I washed the parts in tamiya german grey... And yea, I still need to repaint the rib area to blue. I figured I'd wait until my next pictoral update to get on that though which may be a while. Need to find out what's goin on with my decals first, lol.

Oh, and mampy, I'm stealin your gun design bro, I'm gonna put some creative tweaks in it for mine, but the weapon you made for your prime was pretty close to dead on for the actual cgi. So congrats to you on that one.
