the tile saids it all
A tile hnn? They make those?
All seriousness though, they both sound fine to me, kind of mysterious titles for both.
I'm gonna have to say ROTF just because "Revenge of (insert name here)" is so cliche.
I assume "tile" means title, so you're asking which subtitle is worse? I think Revenge of the Fallen is a lame subtitle. Revenge is such an overused word in movie titles. Dark of the Moon is much better, being a real name for one, though the word dark is also kinda old, but not to the levels of revenge. Plus Revenge of the Fallen, as was brought up, is kind of ambiguious. Dark of the Moon more clearly indicates the plot or a major factor of the movie.
Another thread to complain eh? Such an undecided fandom.
Revenge of the blahblah = cliche.
Dark of the Moon = ... Wait, they only go to the darkside of the moon once to get the Ark. And even then, you can see the Earth in the background. So were they ever really on the darkside of the moon? And even then...
Meh. That title doesn't make to much sense to me.
It never had to do with the dark side of the moon. It had to do with the astronauts being "Dark on the rock" and the secrets around it.
Dark of the Moon sounds better. It made me wonder more about what the plot of the movie is. Revenge of the Fallen is just like "Okay, the fallen Decepticons and/or The Fallen character are going to get their revenge, whatever"
Dark of the Moon is cycle of the moon's rotation. The title itself refers to the secrets on the moon, not the darkside of it. However despite nothing stating as such, fans are quick to assume it means darkside, then immediately pick it apart for making no sense.
I did like ROTF's title. It was ambiguous for a reason and I enjoyed guessing what the fallen in the title meant. DOTM's title sounded dumb at first, but it grew on me and I like it now.
ToTally True! Remember when George Lucas wanted to originally name Return of the Jedi "Revenge of the Jedi"?
The Ark was located on the dark side of the moon. The opening scene even mentions this. That's why so many people think it's referring to that. The moon cycle has nothing to do with the movie, even though it is used for the title.
yup and they can't even spell their complaint correctly.
Not only did they do it in the thread title but did it again in the post, lol
So I will answer the question,
I don't like the idea and Transformers being on tiles.
I mean I like Transformers but I don't want them on my bathroom floor looking at me when I take a crap or something.
Now if you are indeed talking about a title I liked Revenge of the Fallen because of its double meaning. At first before I knew about the Fallen character, I assumed the title meant that Revenge would be coming from those who have fallen in battle, and in a way the movie is also kind of about that. So I like that title given the double meaning.
like someone said on youtube, our fandom is more divided than a quadratic formula.
Rolling on the floor
I like 'em both. What now?!
Transgenders: Dong of the Ma'am.
ROTF: Ripping Off, Tearing Faces
ROTF: Revive Optimus, Teenaged Friends!
ROTF: Racist Overtones, Twins Freaky
ROTF: Relies on Tornado Footage
ROTF: Really Odious, Terrible Film
ROTF: Ridiculously Old Transformer Farts
While DOTM was a better film, ROTF had a title that actually applied to the overall story, and on multiple levels, where DOTM's was just a cursory reference to the plot point that sets the main plot in motion, and maybe to sound cool?
I actually like both titles, but DOTM was more original.
I like both of them, so I can't really say which sounds worst.
Separate names with a comma.
